“Ugh” is right. It’s Monday, again.
I hope you all had an awesome weekend. Yesterday I went and saw “The Eyes of Tammy Faye”. I’m predicting an Oscar nod for Jessica Chastain, but as for the rest you can skip it.
Hope you got to do something fun this weekend too!
Was hoping for better news, but not surprised.
Gabby Petito’s body may have been found, the FBI says. A search for her fiance continues.

While they are out there, maybe keep looking around…
710 Indigenous people, mostly girls, were reported missing over the past decade in Wyoming, the same state where Gabby Petito reportedly disappeared

Seth bb, wyd?
Have a great Monday, at least you aren’t dressed like a candy corn (as far as I know).

Seth Rogan looks like he’s chaperoning a high school homecoming dance. It wasn’t great fashion night. I liked what Anya Taylor Joy and Yara Shihidi were wearing, and Kenan Thompson’s pink tux. Everything else was sort of blah. I usually like Billy Porter but this one looked like it was one of Moira Rose’s costumes from The Crowening.
Anya Taylor Joy is just exquisite.
Blah wasn’t the right word, there were lots of bright colors. Ugly is probably a better choice, lol.
Let’s consider what the stars of “The Crown” decided to wear.
From top to bottom: Josh O’Connor is a card sharp who shows up at the Golden Nugget Saloon in Durango, Colorado, circa 1895. Gillian Anderson is a plant in a macraméd holder circa 1975. Emerald Fennell is an extra in a community theater production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream. Olivia Coleman’s favorite holiday is Halloween. And last but most commented on, Emma Corrin is a member of a Wiccan group that performs regularly at Renaissance Faires up and down the length and breadth of Northumberland.
I watched this season of The Crown (having not seen any of the others) just to see how they did the Diana story line. I thought it was…fine? IDK.
It wasn’t my favorite season mostly because of how dark things are getting which, what else are they going to do.
The next season should be pretty grim. But as far as soap operas go, it is the best soap opera on TV now, what with the very premature (to my mind) conclusion of Downton Abbey.
Sorry, I meant to direct that @MegMegMcGee
Wouldn’t it be great if it isn’t her body but rather one of the hundreds of WOC that are missing? For months, they continue to search for Gabby Petito but keep uncovering more WOC. Then on the anniversary of her disappearance, when all 710 Indigenous women are found and have had proper burials,
Gabby walks out of her fiancé’s parents house to the pearl clutching gasps of the white nation and says “It took one young and beautiful white girl like me to go missing for this country to devote their resources to accidentally find 710 WOC. Fuck this country is racist.”Gabby’s body is found last.Bravo. That’s genius. Pure fantasy, but genius.
@HammerZeitgeist Yes! And as much as I’d like for Gabby to be alive we don’t need another white savior showing teaching us about discrimination.
Yeah, that’s why I crossed out the fictional her teaching us a lesson part.
I got that, that was me awkwardly agreeing with you, sorry.
Likewise, sorry if I sounded rude. I was also agreeing with your statement. The tone I intend is hard for me to convey sometimes :S
And I’m sorry if I… lol
I didn’t think you were being rude. I know it can be frustrating to say something and have someone else come in and repeat it as if they hadn’t even read your comment. And I wanted you to know I had, and I’m just a dope sometimes. 😊
Just came from the Gabby story over on Jezebel. It’s quite fascinating how many people in the comments section are stanning for the boyfriend. Sure, I guess I don’t KNOW he killed her in the same way I KNOW what I had for breakfast this morning, but ffs I would bet money on it?!?! Like, how is this even a question? And how was he not under surveillance? “Person of interest” my right tit.
seriously, how often is a woman killed by someone other than her boyfriend/husband?
Isn’t in the single digit percentages of women murder victims?
And that’s all of them, not sketchy situations like this one…
Like, even in the 3% chance he didn’t outright murder her, something bad happened (she fell off a cliff, she wandered off after a fight, etc) and he… DROVE HOME CROSS COUNTRY WITH ALL THEIR SHIT, ALONE. Not winning any Man Of The Year Awards, dickweed.
yeah, this came up at work, and much like how when it previously came up here, my coworkers were in general agreement that getting a lawyer isn’t suspicious, just smart, but every-fucking-thing else he did was beyond suspicious.
I think you lost a decimal point there, and even giving him a 0.3% of not murdering her is extremely generous…
