  1. Where’d everybody go? I know it’s Labour Day Weekend.

Anyway, the sixth Episode of S4 Reacher was decent. The dark shroud around the plot is starting to make sense. One thing for sure is that the two evil ladies are ones I never want to mess with especially with their damn knife skills.

Started watching the Rockford Files which popped up on Prime. I understand why dad enjoyed watching the show (he was a fan) because it felt a little more real than most cop/detective shows of the era. Still has its really stupid TV moments like Rockford shooting down a plane with a snub nose revolver (in the pilot.)

Unheard of for a detective in the 70s outside of Barney Miller (another dad favorite) to keep their iron holstered most episodes and use his/her wits instead.

Funny to see a young adult Bill Mumy (Lost In Space and Babylon 5) in the pilot also looking eerily like a young Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Buffy).

    • i was stuck on a broken down bus is where i was
first time in years i take a bus…and i get the one what breaks…lol

anyways that explains 20 minutes of where i was today til we all just got on the next bus when it passed us

but yeah..broken bus aside…i was a city over…hitting the market…and more importantly the oriental supermarket…for my monthly supply of bean curd snackages…and you know…noodles and fish

    • Don’t forget Bill Mumy’s star turn in one of the most classic “Twilight Zone” episodes:

He’s still with us at 72. He’s also been married to the same woman for 40 years. I don’t know why but I always assumed he was gay. But my gaydar is terribly defective. Barry Manilow. George Michael. Gay?!?!

  2. i watched nimona

whilst at its core just a movie about maybe not judging people for being different…its wonderfully unhinged and charming…i really liked it

Late, as always. If you liked “Devil Wears Prada 2” I think you’d love “Upgraded.”

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Upgraded_(film)

It’s very similar but much funnier. As fantastic as Meryl Streep is (and she’s so fantastic I think she could convincingly portray me as a 19-year-old male college student) “Upgraded” is better somehow. It’s basically an all-women movie, except for the male love interest, and it’s set in the NYC art scene, not fashion.

Imagine my delight when I saw the characters walking down the same Chelsea streets that I did 20 and 30 and now 40 years ago. But tick tock! There’s an art auction in London. Off they all go, so most of the movie takes place in London.

That’s fun, if you’ve ever been. There’s a very posh hotel that I think is actually a private club (male only) but I am probably misremembering. Then there’s a scene where they’re in “The City” (London’s Wall Street) and Better Half shouted out, “That’s the block where our European headquarters are!”

But so funny. Kudos to the writers. A laff-a-minute.
