What I watched: Oh my, I watched nothing. Let me check with Keitel. Okay, he has been watching, on YouTube, various old Graham Norton shows when Graham’s guest was Miriam Margolyes. I have little idea who this lady is, but I bet she is fun at parties . . . here are two short highlight clips:
Soldier in tree and Random man in car.
What I read: Deadly Touch (Krewe of Hunters). The busier I am the less I want to use my brain after work/finishing up responsibilities, so my frequency of “great literature” reading is nonexistent these days. Escapist, easy, trashy, quick reads? That’s my jam. However, The Krewe of Hunters series by Heather Graham may rise slightly above that level. I just read book 31, and it again features protagonists with ghost-seeing skills who are part of an elite FBI unit, a whole bunch of history about the setting, very mild romance, and a mystery. She has four-book anthology packages for $15.99, in case you want to dip your toes in the series.
What I listened to: Bob Moses and ZHU did a nice edit of Desire:
This fellow is new to me, Smoota, Pink Bra Playing Guitar, from Fetishes.
And Surfer Blood has a new album, Carefree Theatre, due out in September. This is a pre-release tune, Summer Trope:
So, dear ones, how was your week? What did you watch, read, listen to, or do? I hope you had some time for fun and enjoyment! Please share with us, let your fellow DeadSplinterites know what’s up with you!
I’ve been watching Vera, from the beginning…
And Amazon recommended Hamish MacBeth, so here’s Robert Carlyle looking like a snack:
Ohhh Hamish! Loved the books, sweet little mysteries. Great tip!
watching…uhhh…well..nothing much actually..watched a french flick last night
it was okay…but no where near as good as golden oldie taxi
reading…not a lot…
and listening
i do enjoy the folksy stuff
what is your work if i may ask?
and feel free to not answer… im just a curious little bee and realize its none of my bees knees really
I work for a company that has no physical offices, totally “in the cloud”. We provide services to NPOs. Usually it is great, but some days I put in lots if hours, because my coworkers live all over the place, a few 4 hours behind my time zone and a few 6 hours ahead of me. But the point is my only physical coworkers are my four dogs, so I can mostly blast whatever music I want to.
lol thank you..im not entirely sure what an npo is (non public office?) but i think i get the gist
im a sheetmetal worker..i have many co workers…some are racists.. some are conspiracy nuts…some are just fucking stupid
but they all leave me alone… for i am the troll in the dark part of the shop :p
(well..actually..its mostly coz i just dont bother engaging with any of them..here to work..not make friends)
That sounds very like Keitel’s work point of view. He says “I like him”. And is still laughing.
lol
fwiw both you and keitel seem like my kinda people
I took a little trip down memory lane and watched Key and Peele skits on Youtube. So much funny stuff — What if the guys on The Wire pooped their pants? Nazis hunting Key and Peele with calipers. Wendell ordering pizza for a “party” and getting cornered by a lonely employee….
Keitel says his favorite Key and Peele is the Substitute Teacher and agrees that those sketches are funny. (After I had him tell me what this was.) I have heard of this success if J. Peele with “Get Out “.
Really like the Surfer Blood tune.
Watching – I had to take a Marcella break, it’s so dark! Rewatching The Good Place as a palate cleanser, lol.
Reading – 20th Century Ghosts Joe Hill, one of my nephews sent it to me for Christmas, and I never finished it.
Listening – Coriky the new Ian MacKaye, Amy Farina and Joe Lally band. I like it but don’t love it.
Right, regarding Marcella, bad choices, worse results… wait till you get season three. We, too, are on a short hiatus with her. I like Coriky okay as well, maybe if it was just a tiny bit faster?
Watched: Cooked–Survival by Zip Code on PBS. Short documentary program about the 1995 Chicago heatwave and the people who died. Spoiler alert: it was mostly the poor.
Read: The Whiners who Earn $200,000 and Complain They’re Broke from The New Republic. The author pulls no punches as you can tell from the headline. https://newrepublic.com/article/158555/whiners-earn-200000-complain-theyre-broke?utm_source=pocket-newtab
Listened: Just because I haven’t heard this one from Andre Williams before–Pussy Stank
Ohhh – Andre Williams is new to me, and that is one heck of a tune (pauses to add it to playlist).
going for a day late watching
just watched that one
its pretty fucking cool…if you are in to that kind of movie
