Sorry I was in my cups last night!
…was playing Sagrada the board game until 1:30am. We played two rounds of the regular game and then started the campaign. Highly recommend! Look how pretty it is.
I haven’t watched anything that I can remember.
I’ve read a bunch of books…
The newest Cat lady Chronicles was fun.
Yesteryear was fucked up but I enjoyed it. It’s about a modern homesteading tradwife who is basically a sociopath and she gets trapped in the past where homesteading is the only option.
I See Buildings Fall Like Lightning was a quick paced novella that switches between 5 friends POV.
This Book Made Me Think of You was too twee for me.
Ancillary Justice fills my Murder Bot shaped hole.
Sorry for the tardy post! Tell us what media you’ve been consuming.
Oh and I highly recommend Death of the Author by Nnedi Okorafor.
I watched DTF St.Louis this week. It is a very dark comedy-ish who done it that is very enjoyable.
Back to reading Your Dad Stole My Rake which is a LOL series of short real life stories that are WAY too relatable.
Listening to Western Addiction…
It would have been nice had they filmed any of that series around St Louis. Or even put the extras in more Cardinals gear, that would have looked more accurate.
…ancillary justice is the start of a good run
…the ninefox gambit ones might have some translation uncanny valley stuff like the three-body problem…in that they’re translated (iirc) but they’re also written more like murakami got obsessed with maths but didn’t want to use numbers…but they’re also a fair bit like the lost fleet ones with less of the working shown in at least a few ways…so…two down one to go, I believe…& I think I like ’em
…saw…let’s see…liam neeson’s naked gun…much what I expected but you buy credit for several eye-rolls if you open with a macguffin labelled “P.L.O.T, Device”?
…crime 101…aside from needing to suspend enough disbelief for a hemsworth to be a socially-awkward over-achiever of a career heist savant…you got mark ruffalo as the cop halle berry as the insurance agent some nick nolte…bunch a villains to rip off…fun for the family, basically
…the order…jude law finds some based-on-true-events aryan-nation-aren’t-trying turner diaries fans X-years-ago…not bad except it’s mostly bad people presented in good performances which has a whiff of the cognitive dissonance about it
…think I mentioned roofman & I didn’t watch that this week…& there might have been a statham-having one this week but I’m pretty sure I saw it before so if those popping means there’s one I haven’t I expect I’ll track that down at some point?
Was it Shelter? I think it’s streaming on Stars which I don’t subscribe to
…working man…so that might be what has the algorithm throwing those hands?
We’ve been watching a Nordic Noir that translates to Before We Die. It’s pretty good. There are crooked cops, Croation crime families, biker gangs, and naturally yet another detective who gets suspended (“gun and badge, on my desk!”).
Read “Sorrow and Bliss” by Meg Mason. Basic premise is a 40-year-old woman whose entire life goes to shit due to an undiagnosed mental illness. The structure of the book took some getting used to, but it was very readable and kept me interested.
I watched the documentary Crash on Netflix about the 17 yr old who drove the car straight into a building, killing her boyfriend and other friend in the car.
I have a lot of thoughts about it, and I think she is just a spoiled brat who didn’t think the consequences would be their death and had a meltdown about not getting her way. Like I don’t know that I believe she accelerated intending to kill them, but definitely think she intentionally drove that car into the wall.
Sounds a lot like an “It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia” episode. If one is making life choices based on the gang from Paddy’s then it usually leads to really bad/stupid things.
currently addicted to forza horizon….is a car hoarding and mascot murdering simulator…
oh…theres also some racing involved….sometimes against giant mechs
and it has babymetal
so yeah…obviously..with all that to be had… im addicted to spec racing and rivals… apparently nothing makes me happier than having a time to beat… or a field full of people in identical cars to beat.
what can i say…. competitive by nature me…
anyways…after next week i have 3 weeks off…i will probably read something or watch a movie then
unless i spend it all gaming
I just got my pink wristband. I was a little behind because I was out of town, but now I’m blasting through it. It’s such an enormous map that I’m only halfway through discovering all the roads.
likewise pink wristband
halfway to the actual meat of the game…lol
least i assume the festival is the meat of the game….i dont know…i get distracted by hunting down barn finds and treasure cars…..and online racing
those rush events with the set pieces are cool tho
