SNOT: Saturday night open thread. Total open thread. Tell us some things.
Got some shit done today. Grocery store, laundry, cooking ahead. Looking forward to my adult coffee tomorrow morning and some serious couch time. Got anything you want to share?
Not a car guy but this is addicting.
Rant, rave, educate, inform, ask, and answer.
lol…clarksons a pretty funny asshole
anyways..nothing much to share here
locked down..i did nothing coz there is nothing to do
i really want to go out for meal….or something
Perdito and I grabbed lunch at a cool art deco bar, and that is the only interesting thing I’m doing this weekend.
I even parallel parked, which sadly is pretty impressive for my skill level.
Wish I’d told you where to park for free so that you wouldn’t have had to worry about that, though – or about trying to top up the fee for the space, for that matter. . . .
Oh, and remember: You’ve got the t, and I’ve got the d. (Actually, that sounds a bit wrong somehow, but you get the idea.)
Yeah I was reading over this post a few minutes ago and I was like well shit that looks wrong. Damned voiced/unvoiced consonants that often sound the same in English and trip me up with Spanish.
Today, I had a call from my 96 year old aunt and uncle. They have been married 75 years. They still live in a small home in an “independent living community”, but now get their dinner delivered and have a housekeeper once a week. They are also still mentally sharp cookies. I have few relatives left, and very much appreciate them and their longevity.
On Day 3 after my daughter’s positive test result, we’re all asymptomatic, so we’re hoping we’re good. But then my son will be visiting soon and we’re going to want him tested as soon as he comes through the door and hopefully the clock doesn’t start all over again.
Had a hair appointment this morning, then grocery run. Wanted to get home before the alleged ice storm started. It looks shiny out there now but i don’t think it’s as bad as they predicted. I’m now on the couch with a bathing cat on me.
Warning: whining ahead.
Being sick is miserable. My darling youngest son passed on his flu or whatever (not covid, at least, not according to the rapid test) to me and I feel so awful. Every joint, every muscle, even my skin hurts to the touch. I can’t read much because of the fever and splitting headache, and every attempt to talk starts me coughing. I’ve just been lying in bed, in the dark, with an ice pack over my eyes, napping and listening to season 1 and 2 of Stargate.
Get your flu shots, kids, and keep wearing those masks… this year’s a right whopper of a bug.
Oh Honey that sounds horrible.
Was your son’s rapid test a home test or administered out somewhere?
There’s some decent preliminary data that home rapid tests might do better with a throat swab than a nasal at detecting omicron variant and people might be getting negative results but actually have covid.

@HoneySmacks so sorry to hear this…I would send you hugs but do not want to add virtual covid to your woes.
The tests are not very accurate & even less so if it is before day 4 of being exposed. I wish you the best & get lots of rest but good chance it is COVID.
Spent last night shoveling the foot of snow off our parking area and our cars. Spent this morning raking it off the roof. Spent the rest of the day sitting on my ass.
Tomorrow I’m making chicken enchiladas and Spanish rice.
Hopefully there isn’t more snow in the forecast any time soon! That sounds like so much work to manage!
The good news was that the snow was very dry and fluffy. The bad news is that it was a goddamned foot of snow.
We were supposed to be on a trip to north-central Washington for some amazing XC skiing, but getting there was going to be super-iffy (see @Loveshaq‘s description of the passes around Seattle), so we bagged that.
The last couple of days have seen some real crap weather, but today was beautiful, so we went out and exhausted ourselves on the skis. Local beers and some chicken and noodles, and we’re all good hunkering down tonight.
We drove the hour plus to my older daughter’s place to bring her flan & twice baked potatoes. Then came back to spend last night w/ my younger one before she flies back to school watching her school’s team kick ass in basketball.
