In 1940 the Masters Golf Tournament was won by Jimmy Demaret. Lloyd Mangrum finished second, Byron Nelson was third, and Henry Cooper ended in fourth place.
All four golfers were from Texas.

Fourth place was a three-way tie, between Harry Cooper, Ed Dudley and Willie Goggin, so Liss stretched the facts here a little bit. Also, Harry Cooper–although he was living in Texas–was born and raised in England, so I wouldn’t have said he was “from” Texas.
