Modern basketball players tend to be pretty tall, but no one has ever matched the height of Suleiman Ali Nashnush, who played for the Libyan National team in 1962. Ali was eight feet tall, making him the biggest basketball player on record.

Turns out that, while Nashnush is still the tallest basketball player in history, the 8-foot height thing actually comes with an asterisk. Two years before he played for the Libyan National team, he had surgery to correct his growth, so when he played he was actually 7′ 10″.
was he one of those never stops growing types?
theres a name for it…but i forget that kind of stuff
is the air thin up there?
yoohoo *waves*
That’s my understanding. I think it’s a pituitary gland disorder.
Didn’t Andre the Giant have the same thing? I saw him once in person as a child and he was the most massive person I have ever seen by a long shot. Largest basketball player I have ever seen up close was Manute Bol during a preseason game against the Lakers, he was 7’7″. His son Bol Bol is now playing for the Nuggets and has a much better game than his dad but he is only 7’2″.
I don’t know if the word “only” belongs in a sentence with 7’2”.
