In hockey, scoring three goals in one game is called “the hat trick.” At one time the record for the fastest hat trick was held by Bill Mosienko of the Chicago Black Hawks. He got his trio of goals in exactly 21 seconds.
In January 1982 Steve D’Innocenzo of Holliston, Massachusetts, beat that record in a game against Westwood High School. He drove the puck into the net with 1 minute and 19 seconds to play. Six seconds later the young hockey player sent the puck past the goalie again. It took another six seconds for the third goal to hit the net. Total time elapsed for three goals: 12 seconds!

The Guinness Book of World Records seems to just count professional hockey, so Mosienko is still listed as the record holder. But, SI did have a blurb on the kid from Holliston so as far as I can tell, nobody has done it in less than 12 seconds.
So, why is it called a hat trick? I know that’s not the point of the post but I always wondered.
i dont know but i know its 3

Good question. This looks like a reasonable answer.
