Stupid Things [NOT 9/9/23]

What are some of the stupid things you’ve heard or said?

Stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in a meeting: “The future of the internet will always be wireline. Wireless internet is just a fad.” Clueless director at a long defunct internet company (and you wonder why?)

Stupidest thing I’ve ever said: “I guess you can live with me, but only for three months.” To Cokehead Narcissist. /sigh/

Stupidest thing I’ve ever done by choice: Reading and riding a bike at the same time (13 years old) which worked out fine till I crashed into a parked car.

Stupidest thing I’ve done while driving: Checking my messages (while at stopped on a red light) on my cellphone right next to a cop… cost me $250 in fines and $550 in legal costs. (2 years ago) (Plus ca change, plus ca meme chose?)

Stupidest act I’ve ever witnessed at work: a director throwing a tantrum like an entitled spoiled stupid brat in a meeting and getting away with it. (Still employed there… for now.)

  1. i have an ex that thinks llamas are extinct….but mammoths are not

    theres a saying…..dont fuck crazy

    and its got a point

    fucking lot of fun tho

    worth the scars imo

but yeah….. my list of stupid is really long

    like,….ever rode a mountainbike down a hillside road…at 3 am…with no brakes?

(or for that matter hit a stormdrain….cleared a 6ft fence and woke up the next day wondering where the fuck my bike was……before wondering where the fuck i was)

saying what the fuck are you gonna do? stab me for a fiver? you sad fuck to a chav wasnt my brightest moment either…..dude fucking did stab me

right in the elbow……but fuck you thats my bus fare!

really shoulda just given that sad fucking shit the fiver

    • Ouch! To all of it.

Never been stabbed… would prefer to keep it that way but nearly got stabbed with a screwdriver by the Cokehead Narcissist till I wrenched it from her hand. Got slashed in the elbow by the Cokehead Narcissist when she attacked me with a knife.

    • I’m on cable internet because the local phone provider won’t bring fiber optic here.

The truth is that the only growth driver for telecom is mobile/wireless internet. Anything landline is either static or more likely shrinking.

It was the same almost 17 years ago as it is today.

  2. Around 20 years ago, the woman in the cubicle next to mine were having a conversation about something long forgotten, when at one point she said, “You don’t listen to talk radio? That is your downfall. . . .”

This started a slow but similarly precipitous decline in my esteem for her, until I was finally let go the following year.

  3. A programming note…

I will be playing tourista in the Murrica Capital next weekend. I intend to do a Debi Newbury from Grosse Pointe Blank and schedule a post before I go.
