Hi, friends!
We haven’t had suggestions post in a hot minute.
I’ll start.
Wear a helmet while on a motorcycle, even if you live in a place without helmet laws.
Signed, Missouri got rid of their helmet law a few years back and this week I was not too many cars behind an accident with 2 vehicles and a motorcycle. When I drove by – before EMS had arrived – he was sort of awake and definitely would have been better off wearing a helmet.
Never rub your eyes while making salsa. I got a combo of jalapeños, Serranos, & lime juice in my eye yesterday & it was not pleasant!
Happened to a friend of mine while eating ghost pepper wings. He shrieked in agony while the rest of us heartless assholes laughed at him.
never wipe your hands on your shirt after handling high scoville material if you have allergies and often – in EXTREME/Urgent cases – use your shirt to wipe your runny eyes.
it’s a valuable lesson i learn about 3 or 4 times per year. if the frost doesn’t come until november, perhaps 5 or 6.
Wear gloves going to the bathroom.
And waste this perfectly good diaper?
If you put the diaper on before you handle the hot peppers it’s OK.
ummm…wouldnt wearing gloves when handling the hot stuff be more in line with sop?
Nah, where’s the adventure with that?
I remember encountering someone online who insisted that helmets increased the odds of an accident because the extra diameter of the helmet compared to your head meant greater odds of hitting the ground.
I truly can’t see how the slightly bigger size would matter – if your head is going to the concrete at 20+ mph, it’s going to the concrete and a couple of extra inches won’t matter. But I think that’s how rationalizations work. Sort of like the people who argue against seatbelts because you might be in an accident where you want to be thrown through the windshield just in case the whole car gets engulfed in flames.
Plus the false sense of security makes you take more risks.
Surprisingly the human body is quite fragile at high speed. Every little bit of protection helps, but you know…. Freedumbz!
Don’t delay house repairs if you can. The cost skyrockets. Even factoring inflation, the price to fix up my parents house cost 50% more after merely four years of neglect.
Agreed – issues only get worse and more costly.
Eventually the earth and the water reclaim their own and all is brought back into balance.
Not that the city code enforcers are impressed.
helmets mandatory here (unless you have a midlife crisis and buy a bigly trike…those count as cars sort of…but dont need seatbelts…)
which means in summer all of our cooler brainiacs ride around like this
unless they are wearing shorts too
