Sunday Funday! [NOT 1/10/23]

Hi, friends!

I hope you had a good weekend and enjoyed yourselves.

You know who else had fun? A woman in a St Louis suburb got into a fight with her husband and then drove 4.6 miles “recklessly” with him on the hood of her car. Including on interstate 70!

Unfortunately, she was charged with assault and didn’t pull over for like half a mile after the cops approached her, so she ended up in jail.

I think it’s a fuck around and find out situation where her husband shouldn’t have been on the hood of her car.

  1. Her husband is TJ Hooker?

    Two points…

    1. How does Shatner’s wig stay on?

    2. I’m glad that my mom can’t drive anymore or this might be them after all the incidents with the cops recently.

  2. I don’t know how that’s even possible. I’d think the inertia from braking and turning would break his grip wherever it was.

I remember during a summer job in high school riding down the road in the bed of a pickup, and even that was pretty insecure.

    • Speaking from stupid experience, if you get your hands on the edge of the hood right where the windscreen is and put a death grip on it you can cling bitterly to the hood for a while. Not that I know anything about that…

  3. Shit. It’s Monday. I got hell shift, er, day shift starting this week. I would happily trade it, but I’m stuck with it as I hit my limit for shift switches.

Too much management/stupid/bullshit to deal with and both supervisors are on edge/scared shitless due to management/stupid/bullshit.

Last Friday got into yelling match with a coworker from another dept because he tried to kick me out of a clean up room that I was working in first. I momentarily contemplated taking a swing, but reason/sanity won out. Any fist fight would have be a splish splash fight on a slippery concrete floor which would hurt me worse than he could and I would have been fired.

Ended up yelling at his supervisor and scaring the shit out of my supervisor.

To be honest, I still probably would have lost my temper even if my parents were sane and mentally healthy. This was pretty shit behavior of said coworker. He was upset later, but he should have taken the hint that he had to wait till the room was clear (like everyone else including me at work.)

  4. Sad news. It seems ex Pirate/RedSox knuckleball pitcher Tim Wakefield died from an aggressive form of brain cancer (like a couple of people I’ve known). Can respect a guy reinventing himself from a mediocre hitter into a knuckleball pitcher to have a long career of 17 years in the majors.

I saw the MLB article on him. No mention of the asshole who broke the news.

One more aside: Fuck you Curt, er, Kurt Schillling. Prayer doesn’t help Stage 4 Brain Cancer you Nazi shitbag.

    • By the time we get to Phoenix

      She’ll be driving

She’ll wonder how I’m left hanging on her hood

She’ll laugh, when she sees me scream while she’s weaving

Cause I’ve rode that hood, so many times before

    • Tying into Lymond’s DUAN, 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover was a hit as Jimmy Carter hit the campaign trail in 1976, but there’s nothing there about clinging to the hood of the car while it drives away down the Interstate.

  5. As someone whose wife drove recklessly with me on the hood of the car, I can say that there’s no telling who the abuser is here. It is interesting however that she has been ordered to have no contact with him rather than the other way around which suggests there’s more here than meets the eye.

  6. my team lead is off this week

    you know what that means?

thats right…i’m the team lead now 🙂

gonna be smooth sailing this week

the office can go get stuffed tho

which is probably why im not team lead full time
