We got back a little while ago from spending the weekend visiting our daughter at college for parents weekend. It seems like the leaves turned here in the couple of days while we were gone.
We went to a reception for a friend that got married. It was in a little restaurant, and they decided to have a DJ. We couldn’t hold a conversation over dinner, and finally left with splitting headaches. Everybody at my table was pissed. I get cranking the music to get people to the dance floor, but it was blasting all through dinner, when nobody was dancing.
So your DJ was more Borat than Ali G?
I think most DJs and pro musicians can’t hear much anymore and have lost their sense of volume.
The last wedding I went to had a similar sound issue during the reception. Underwhelmed yet overstimulated.
I took Keitel’s advice and did nothing. I spoke with mom today and that was it. She didn’t remember she wanted to talk to me yesterday.
That’s good advice! I’m glad you got a bit of a break today.
I had a busy but fun weekend hanging out with some friends from the dog park.

I finished garden cleanup in advance of the excavation for the tight tank. We were planning to cut some more wood but got a last minute invitation from some neighbors to come to their place to eat BBQ and watch the game. So we had fun and our team even won which is a straight up miracle.
That’s impressive gardening work.
I did a lot of removal but haven’t bagged up the tomato carcasses etc for yard waste yet. I should do that tomorrow or the day after or the day after that.
Yesterday I was visiting Kingston (it was Homecoming) because several university friends I still talk to were visiting that day.
It was a good time for a day trip.
Someone asked if I wanted to see some of my former classmates, but I passed because anyone I wanted to see was at the table I was sitting at.
Went on a one-night van camping trip with just the two dogs — Ms. Meme was traveling with family. Just a nice, quiet night on the banks of the Payette River in a wilderness management area.
Came back Saturday and assembled a fire table for our front courtyard. Works great and will greatly increase our time outdoors in the evenings.
That fire table is so neat!

that said…i did just learn its maybe no longer the time of year to be outside barefoot for my morning coffee and a smoke
