  1. The 98 year old co-owner of a local paper in Marion County Kansas died after police carried out a very, very suspicious search and seizure on her home and the newspaper’s office.

The raid may have been connected to the paper’s editor and son of the dead woman having investigated — but not published — a tip about a politically connected local restaurant owner having a DUI on her record.

The paper had also investigated — but also not published — multiple tips that the city’s chief of police had serious problems on the job in his previous position in Kansas City.

  2. The Kerch bridge is not Thanh Hoa* in terms of losses, but knocking it out would have some consequences like isolating the Crimean peninsula.

*the Dragon’s Jaw bridge in what was North Vietnam that the US spent considerable aircraft and bombs trying to knock down between 1965-68 and 1972 when they finally blew it up with laser guided bombs.

Of course, the US hasn’t supplied the ATACMS missile which can be fired from a HIMARS launcher to the Ukraine which has enough range, possibly the accuracy and a powerful warhead to damage it.

Looks like they’re trying to keep the Russians keep a lot of their anti-air assets near the bridge while they attack targets closer.

  3. Excellent DOT. And the linked article on “sky stuff”. It is to bright here to see much of Perseid, but I should be able to catch the eclipse in October.

  4. i couldnt imagine letting a loved ones grave get that neglected personally

but i suspect the clue lies in loved one

and im not sure anyone in that family is capable of thoughts reaching beyond me!me!me!

i’ll give baron the benefit of the doubt for now….but his odds of being a decent person arent great
