Two weeks in a row, two big W’s here at the ol’ Clever Name Haus.
Last week was the good news about my wife. (I have since learned the news was even better than I thought; her doctor gave us specifics this week and it’s amazing.)
This week I finished my annual end-of-year research book at work, 180 pages, and most of them have my name and/or work on them. It’s always a giant exhale for me when it’s done and as of Wednesday … it’s done!
So I’m sitting here feeling as calm and relieved as I have in a minute and I’m trying to savor it. The rest of the world might be going to hell but I’M CALM GODDAMNIT.
What’s something that’s brought YOU some relief recently?
Love your great news!
…that news is good enough the vicarious edition might place on my personal shortlist this week
…but a close friend got a not-that-awful-possibility result from a health-scare & that’s kinda in the zone if you look past the part where there’s still something going on that nobody’s come up with an answer on
…but I get to see some other friends tomorrow if nothing jinxed that part…& some of those I haven’t seen in a minute…so…that’s a thing to look forward to that counts, I’m pretty sure?
I’ve been having issues with school. I didn’t expect things to be easy, but I also didn’t expect to feel like I’m a fucking idiot either. In particular Calculus and Physics (you’d think being a math whiz whose math geniuz was the only thing that kept him from failing out of Engineering school would still be sharp, but alas I’m not.)
Physics is still a damn struggle (it shouldn’t but it is.) Just wrote my 2nd mid term for Calc and I feel a lot better. The thoughts flowed from my brain easy like water and everything seemed to click. I went thru question by question, making sure I got my signs right, justifying everything, etc. I thought I did better the first mid term, but I kind a shit the bed (only 50%) because I didn’t practice enough problems and my sleep was totally fucked up because I was sick (leading to shitty judgement.)
This time, I got a good night’s sleep AND I’m not clogged up with snot.
I’m pretty sure I did a lot better than the last one. I spent the last 20 minutes of the two hour test working over the questions, double/triple checking my answers before handing in my test with about 20 minutes to go.
Congrats on getting your big project done.
I get relief from other people’s good news, so thanks.
