…I haven’t actually watched all that many of these…which…at least as far as youtube seems to be concerned are broadly the output of two accounts…one of which claims to be two people called soph & mara…which gets you @sophmara_FanMadeMusic…& video titles like “We Are Not Mad At Americans” & “We Love Americans But Not Their Leaders”…& the other is @BNN_BricksNewsNetwork…but they have “collaborations” with @KashMusikFanMadeMusic & @Creedlow-fanmademusic…& so on & so forth…in a pattern I imagine you’d be familiar with if you ever wondered what all the junk accounts on kinja that followed people were all about…or indeed the similar ones on bluesky…or…I’m moderately confident…every platform you’d apply the term “at scale” to…&…that marianna spring lass on the BBC’s dime has been doing a thing with a bloke whose name currently escapes me under the heading of “top comment” where they among other things did manage to speak to the/a guy who seems to be responsible for some/all of the stuff in the way that puts the “iran” into it…&…they had a chaperone…& that interview wasn’t (afaik) available as a full playthrough but the excerpts that were in the piece that aired were more than a little rife with contradictions between what the guy doing it said & what the chaperone said he must have meant to say/not-say…but…like…iran is not that online as places go in the terminally-online sense you need to be for the arguable genius of these things to make sense…& they are absolutely built for non-domestic consumption…not all of the videos they kick out mention “from Iran”…but to the extent I had a bit of a poke about to see what the “collaboration” stuff spun off out to…which only really pulled those four accounts…back when the default punchline was that the dipshit poster was a russian bot…& the prospects being eroded were hillary’s…that was considered to be both a strong & a deep bench…it was a boom cottage industry in places like macedonia the way phishing scams & nigerian princes went together…or whatever

…but…to go this hard on what seems to be a model trained up on mostly nas & the lego batman movie…& maintain the levels of output that clutch of accounts seems to be pushing out…seems like you need to be a pretty niche sort of steeped in whatever internet you’ve been stewing in…&…like…it kinda twists my mind to try to wrap my head around…coming from some other hypothetical source…with the benefit of a wildly different contextual framework in which to consider the things…like…& I don’t mean this in the sense that I think the man is good bet or that it would be “better” than whatever is making it harder for not-susan-collins to go better places…but like the credit he gets that belongs to whoever runs his twitter…if this was all coming out of gavin newsome’s campaign…it’d be…probably at least half as hypocritical?

…runs long as hell…& I’d have to let it run again to be able to make up my mind if it just repeats…the thumbnail isn’t the way the figures look in the actual video…& in a bunch of places the limitations of the model poke through where they try to run generated text on mock documents or charts…a bunch of that stuff is legible but it’s visibly garbled in places that aren’t trying to do the lorem ipsum thing…& it’s long on how much royal grace was involved in all the gravitas of the important talking the important man it’s important to remember is royalty with sufficient dignity to both acknowledge the weight awarded to what america says when it speaks “since independence” when that’s kind of king-speak for self-deprecation…& then do it again making jokes about that time the british demolished more than the east wing

…& yet…to dial this stuff in the way they have…to key their output into this thing that’s somewhere between a meme & a genre…I’m not altogether sure how you achieve the implied level of “literacy” while being in any sense representative of “iran” without levels of personal hypocrisy at least commensurate with the targets of your work…given how nigh-impossible that would be to the bulk of the population of the place

…the creedlow one seems to run to mostly banging the epstein drum…there’s…overlap but the KashMusik one leans more into the religion stuff, maybe…vance getting tossed from a meeting with the pope…we bleed the same blood…god save america…iran just released a video that will make every american think god is watching them…delightful stuff, I’m sure…we’ve already covered that soph/mara…if either are real…are all about how much they love americans but need them to depose their leadership as soon as democratically feasible…preferably a bit quicker if you don’t mind…& the BNN thing is the ones I’d previously been most likely to scroll past in the suggestions

…&…I might be wrong about this part…it’s hard to tell since these days anyone with decent content on youtube can also be found in adulterated form as unauthorised re-cycled clickbait for account monetisation purposes…so…I don’t know it isn’t stuff from those youtube accounts getting farmed…but…there’s places like @muslimworldtivi where in among the recitations from “the book” & the nasheeds & the clips from TV about sport you might not get on ESPN you’ll find a few…wakeup america…the united states of israel one…but with a spiffy 4K badge like it came from a hi-def feed but might just be the channel’s equivalent of a watermark…&…this one

…&…like…it’s a fascinating rabbit hole…but…like…that might be a bit more than nas in the mix…you got some jazz in there…a…call it mary j blige angle…maybe…aliyah…still a dash of the uncanny valley autotune accent
