Our local animal rescues have a backlog of applications because so many people are trying to foster and adopt.
This is a selfish feel good moment but – I gave blood for the first time ever this week. It was actually very easy and there were a lot of people there so it’s good to see some people are trying to help others instead of hoarding all of the toilet paper.
That’s awesome Lymond! You’re allowed selfish feel-good moments for sure. I’m O- so they always want my blood, but the last time I tried my iron was too low and the time before that I puked. I’ll keep trying tho!
The garlic that we planted in late Fall has just popped up. Looking forward to a bunch of home grown garlic–this is the first time we’ve tried it.
One time I stuck in the ground some garlic cloves that had sprouted and gone soft in the fridge. They did just fine. I think the cloves that grew off of them were on the small side, but I think they’re pretty much foolproof otherwise.
I built one of these and the first seedlings are starting to come up. I may get salad in a month.

We had a 6.5 earthquake in Idaho yesterday, with little or no damage, and no injuries or fatalities, reported.
Wow, that seems like a big earthquake for (checks notes) Idaho! Glad everyone is OK!
Only good news I can come up with is Meme’s Idaho quake didn’t generate a Potato Tsunami here in WA.
That made me think of this girl who turned herself into a potato in a Zoom meeting and couldn’t turn it back…
Holy shit, I had no idea you could do that in Zoom, and now I want to be a turnip for the next staff meeting.
