Tell Me Something Good [NOT 12/1/22]

Hi, friends!

This week is just fucking dragging along. But good news is there is a three-day weekend on the horizon.

One of the side benefits of “eat at home and stop getting drive thru” is I’m making a dent in my freezer. I have a side by side fridge/freezer and jesus fuck are those stupid. Like it works… barely…. for me. I can’t imagine how to get this fridge to work if there were a family here. Like I can’t store a frozen pizza unless I take a shelf out. I don’t even think I could fit a frozen turkey or larger ham in there.

Anyways, dork that I am, I’m really excited about how I’m making some room finally in the stupid-shaped freezer. And surprisingly nothing has been too freezerburnt to eat yet.

So with this exciting life I live, let me tell you I’m going to have an exciting weekend. We might or might not get 2 or 3-6 inches of snow. All depends on which meteorologist you listen to. I feel bad for grocery store employees this time of year because of the panic shopping. Realistically, we’ll see 1-2 inches of snow and roads will be shitty for like 4 hours probably.

What’s good in your lives lately?

  1. The good news – I ordered new living room furniture today. It’s a long overdue purchase.
The bad news – speaking of long overdue, it will take 6 to 8 months for delivery.

  2. Thanks to a generous gift from my wife’s dad & my wife’s aggressive saving, we paid off our clinic building today.  That’s a huge stress reliever for her & step closer to an exit plan.

    • That’s really good to hear. Hopefully, you will all escape the wrath of The Plague. Did you guys have your booster shots yet? We’re all double vaxxed but hadn’t gotten boosted yet and it’s got us but good.

      • We all got boosted. It was a bit of pain finding openings back in December but they seem to be easier now. Sorry it got you before your turn. I had a small taste with side effects after a previous shot and don’t wish the full blown version on anyone.

  3. I don’t have much good today. It turns out that we have The ‘Rona. Yes, my whole household, all 6 of us, are in varying stages of Covid. And let me tell you, it SUCKS. It’s a good thing we all get along well because we’re stuck in the house together until at least Monday.

      • I knew it would happen sooner or later… I’m honestly shocked it took 2 years to hit us, since everyone who works works in a customer service job.

It really sucks, though. My sense of taste started going weird this morning and it’s gotten worse through the day. And the headaches… oh, god, the headaches and body aches are the woooorst.

  4. TIL that Jason Isaacs and Jon Hamm are not the same person.

I may have previously learned that but my memory has been shit these past couple years. From now on (until I forget again), if the guy seems a cocky evil narcissist then he is probably Jason Isaacs if he seems like a cocky alcoholic narcissist then he is probably Jon Hamm. That’s a thin line. No wonder they blend in my head.

  5. 2 of my anti vaxxers didnt died and should be back at work today ….supposedly anyways

this will save me work….at least until the first one brags it was just sniffles and i have to accidentally push his head into the hydraulic press… that will probably earn me a trip to HR

also i just learnt that a shockingly large amount of my coworkers is not fully vaccinated

apparently most of them decided one shot of pfizer was good enough

sometimes i wish i was higher educated…so i could deal with smarter idiots

oh right yeah…good…sorry…little short on good today…. doesnt help that courtesy of inflation going nuts im probably facing a major rent increase by summer…on top of the groceries i cant afford…..yeah 22 is going to be great

    • there’s plenty of dumb educated people.

At my previous job, I once spent about ten minutes trying to (tactfully) explain to a PhD that you can’t dilute something to a higher concentration than the initial concentration.

      :/
