…terminally stupid [DOT 25/3/20]

…welcome to…wait…wednesday…for real…it’s only wednesday?

…I forget…are we up

…or down

https://www.washingtonpost.com/business/2020/03/20/stocks-markets-today-coronavirus/

…oh, no…I remember…the “magnificent men” are on the case

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/trump-echoes-some-right-pushing-get-back-work-health-experts-n1167611

…& this shit?

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/24/politics/donald-trump-coronavirus-strategy/index.html

…I’d say it was terminally stupid…in that it would literally kill more people than may die as it is…& worse the low-grade snake oil peddler knows good & god-damned well it would…but had the fucking audacity to suggest that the level of suicides brought about by not driving an opaquely infected working populace back out into a society in need of potentially infectious customers would be greater than the death toll attributable to the virus in the longer term

…I mean, he didn’t put it like that because the fucking caricature of human effigy can’t think his way past a sub-clause all the way to the end of any sentence that deserves a moment’s thought

…so I have no idea why these are the things that come to mind just at the minute?

what’s the bar on “classic blunders” these days?

…because surely this has to be right up there?

https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/man-dies-after-ingesting-chloroquine-attempt-prevent-coronavirus-n1167166

…& it isn’t even so much that the dead guy is the dumbass in this story…that it should be possible for a grown man to make that kind of mistake at this point in this slow-motion car-wreck of a situation is a staggering indictment of decades of poor choices not by that man but by the ones sitting on the lion’s share of the profits from the so called social contract

…not that anyone paying any attention has been under the impression he knows how to honor a contract…social or otherwise…so why should now be different?

As Fleeing New Yorkers Are Told to Quarantine, Trump Says U.S. Should Reopen ‘by Easter’

…after all, it’s not like he could have figured any of this shit out any quicker

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/cruise-ships-kept-sailing-as-coronavirus-spread-travelers-and-health-experts-question-why/2020/03/20/story.html

…because like he was busy saying the other day…no one had any inkling a thing like this could even happen until just the other day when he first heard about it

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/us-intelligence-reports-from-january-and-february-warned-about-a-likely-pandemic/2020/03/20/story.html

…so, I dunno…fuck…hope for the best…maybe don’t prepare for the worst because there isn’t enough fucking toilet paper as it is & I don’t want to hear about it from myo until the whole thing goes up in smoke

…but stay sane…stay indoors if at all possible…& don’t let the bastards get you down

  1. Here at home, millions of laid-off theme park and hotel workers are figuring out how badly they’ve gotten screwed. Rick Scott absolutely gutted the unemployment program here at the behest of big businesses (including his own). Now there’s a mounting crisis since no one can access any unemployment benefits. Which are pathetic, even if you can get them ($275 a week — that’s nowhere close to enough to live on). New Governor Ron DeSantis is finding out that having millions of people pissed off at you is not a good thing. Of course, the businesses that supported massive unemployment tax cuts now want federal bailouts. Remember, kids, Rick Scott wants to be President. This would be a colossal disaster.
