Hey gang! You’ll have to fill in the blanks today because I completely forgot about y’all. To be fair that’s a thing I haven’t done in quite some time. I came home from work watched some TV went to bed and didn’t even realize I forgot until 5:55 AM!

      Every single time a new Epstein reveal drops, it’s always accompanied by a story of how it was covered up. Every. single. time.

      There’s days I wonder if the QAnon lunatics were actually fitting together bits and pieces of the whole Epstein mess, but were too stupid or partisan to look at the actual perpetrators.

        • That photo, by the way, is of the Dept. of Justice Bldg. Does everyone realize that an enormous hanging of an idealized image of the Trumpenführer complete with a snappy slogan brings to mind barbaric regimes both past and present? I was in Washington years ago and the Dept. of Education Bldg had a huge banner that said something like “Leave No Child Behind” and I thought that raised goosebumps.

        …per forbes the george washington got to the south china seas a couple of weeks ago to hang about conducting routine operations…as you do…& did the “go west…” thing yesterday…so…whatever that works out to…but the lincoln is still all the way over there & needs to get somewhere before, during or after you rotate all the people off the thing…& when it gets there it probably needs to stay longer & have more spent on it than it would have if you…hadn’t gone about this stuff this way…sort of like the stockpile of the better-than-yours bang-going stuff in that respect, really

    …people noted the drop off in certain previously loud voices all the way over to the states when orban ceased to function as a fiscal node in that ecosystem & nige’s grift-on-the-downlow doing a bit of a pratfall seems to be going at least a bit different than all the other times it’s been obvious what the guy is about…but…baking in the decline in likelihood of prosecutorial consequences as the size of your grift gets bigger would be wholly in accordance with how nige thinks britain should be treating his gift-horses-that-definitely-aren’t-like-that-troy-clusterfuck

    • …like @bryanlsplinter says…basically the principle is fundamentally sound so if something is a faraday cage style barrier that will function that way…not sure how effective or how many layers it would take but in theory you could block signals by wrapping one in tinfoil…that’s aluminium…& as one of the comments on that reddit thread mentions a fancy-sounding but effective way would involve copper mesh then aluminium then more mesh to however many layers killed the signal

      …& there’s potentially a difference between “fully-shielded” or blocked-like-the-devices-that-make-you-un-call-able-where-they-are-do-that or just “probably won’t disturb the movie” which might be more like airplane mode than the distant past when you could…well…take out the battery, basically

      …not saying that’s the sole reason that became increasingly harder to do on more or less most phones that sell in big numbers…but…if they make out it wasn’t high on the “pros” list for the people claiming the customer wanted that…they do be lying?

    • It’s also probably worth mentioning that I worked for a license plate recognition company almost … 15 years ago? Flock is getting all the publicity right now, but I used to tell people that there are a LOT more LPR cameras out there than most people realize, and that was then. The UK is absolutely blanketed in them.

      Most of our installations were much more subtle than the Flock stuff, and nowadays most police cruisers have one on board. We used to hide them in the radiator grills and on the lights on the top.

      And yes, they were being misused back then too. It’s just that most of the sales and deployments were on the down-low, buried in police budgets and with cameras hidden as part of power poles and traffic lights (and the above-mentioned radiators).

    • Lining a gift bag with tinfoil is enough to prevent security tags from working in department stores. So I feel like just having a bunch of layers of aluminum foil wrapped around a small bag with your phone in it probably works.
      Or find a think metal box from industrial use?
