The Dumbest Timeline [DOT 6/10/20]

I. Cannot.

This morning on my way to work I drove by Walter Reed military medical center, as I do most days. Today, one side of the street was lined with TV cameras and news people (each group somewhat distanced from the next). On the other side of the street was the gaggle of Trump supporters with their signs, some “Get Well Soon” balloons, and various flags (American, Trump, Gadsden).

I may or may not have flicked them off.

    …Jr is out there trying to claim that “the libs” are afraid of having to be injected with a cure made from his dad’s blood (which is beyond crazy) while the press reports that he’s the only one of the man’s kids who wants to tell their father he’s acting *too* crazy

    …the White House won’t let the CDC contact trace (or announce if that can help it) the infections they’re responsible for

    …& the GOP are trying to argue that somehow being ill-as-fuck with disease he (as president) had a much better chance of avoiding contact with than damn-near anyone is somehow a reason to vote for him rather than Biden

    …I’d say you couldn’t make it up…except everywhere you look that’s exactly what they’re fucking doing?

    • Take heart. COVID-19 is known for briefly easing and then coming back even stronger, and by many accounts this was a bad bout that’s been hushed up. He’s clearly being “propped up” pharmaceutically, and there’s a limit to how much of that they can do. Even if he ultimately survives it’s likely that his “health” is permanently compromised. At a minimum, this will end his fucking Klan rallies for the immediate future. And Typhoid Donald infected a TON of GOP ghouls, so I’m pretty sure we haven’t heard the last of this outbreak. 
       
      Look on the bright side, is what I’m saying. 

    • He’s not going to change his position. Basically, COVID is now a “poison pill,” a form of sabotage that will get handed over along with the country when Trump loses the election. Biden’s victory is going to be too large a margin for the normal Republican vote-suppression and legal tricks to work, and they all know it now. Other sabotage includes but is not limited to: Shitty economy, racial unrest, global warming, healthcare crisis, etc.
       
      This will form the rallying cry for the 2024 election, since these horrible problems are going to cause so much pain and misery to fix, the Republicans will be able to use to convince their low-intellect core constituency (separate but related to the greedy fuck-you-all constituency) to vote them into office again. Imbeciles will forget the Trump Administration and rush to vote Rick Scott, or Marco Rubio, or God help us fucking Matt Gaetz, into office. 
       
      Democrats need to move decisively to shut voter suppression down permanently, like with a national vote-by-mail program. If they fuck around, we’ll see this shit happen again, but with more death and destruction next time.

        …& the tweet they point out is full of shit claiming the flu is worse than covid matches the post facebook actually removed

        …it’s very much a too-little-too-late kind of a deal but I guess something is at least theoretically better than nothing?

        …I mean, not when it’s covid, obviously…are “it’s Miller time” jokes in bad taste?
