Well today I hit that threshold of “oh my god why is there so much mess why do I live like this I need to clean ALL THE THINGS.”
Realistically, I’m going to clean for like an hour and then watch Netflix all night. Because my house is around 700 sq ft (that’s about 65 sq meters for everyone using intelligent measuring systems), typically it doesn’t take much work to see major improvement .

I got sort of behind over Thanksgiving. So I hit it pretty hard today. I’m now at a manageable level of mess. I put my tree up but haven’t decorated it yet, hopefully, tomorrow. What are you planning on watching on Netflix?
I don’t know yet. I got lured into watching some true crime special on cable and once that’s over I’m gonna queue up the Netflix and walk on the treadmill.
Dust? What dust? Dog hair? Really? I don’t see anything…
After living in the desert for 8 years I can no longer see dust. It makes Mrs. Butcher crazy.

I ADORE her, but that “dogs shed twice a year” thing *neglects* to mention that each of those *two seasons* are exactly 6 months long!!!!😱😱😱
Yeah my doggos always blew a coat twice a year but the shedding was perpetual!
I hurt an old injury bringing in a Target furniture box last night. 😑 Assembly is not going to happen until this passes. So I’m thinking that giant cardboard box will be sitting in the entry for the next week…

Those furniture boxes are annoying as fuck.
Depending on the space and the items, if you need to clear up the entry you can take pieces out and move them. I did that to get a couple of Costco shelving units into my basement since I couldn’t lift the whole boxes and get them into the basement alone.
If I unpack the pieces, the cats will probably sharpen their claws on the pieces. So, I’ll probably just leave it in the box this week.

My place needs a serious desqualoring as well… I just assigned various kids to take out garbage, do the dishes, and clean the bathroom. I did a quick sweep of the kitchen to remove items that don’t belong there and then a literal sweeping. It never fails to amaze me how fast the place goes to hell when I can’t clean every day (got my bad hip taped up yesterday and it’s starting to feel better, finally). I vacuumed 2 days ago and it already looks like I haven’t done it in months 🙄
I tried to post a picture of the crochet project I just finished but can’t figure it out (I’m on my phone, if anyone can explain it to me). I can’t decide if this is the coolest thing I’ve ever made, or the ugliest! I set out to make a blanket for the cat to lay on, figuring I could experiment with some different stitches and so on and it wouldn’t matter if it didn’t come out perfect. O-H told me last night that it looks like a psychedelic wall hanging from the 70’s!

Our place suffers from entropy. Periodically, we clean the joint up–like we did a few weeks ago–but inevitably the decay returns.
I’m just trying to get through the next couple of weeks and then I can hopefully get a decent night’s sleep and maybe my heart will stop pounding. I’ve had all the fun I can stand out of these people.
