Hi, friends!
It’s Thirsty Thursday. What are we drinking this week?
I’ve been really digging a cranberry spice herbal tea I bought locally. I also got a small box of wine in the fridge for when I want a glass but not dealing with a bottle.
Side note, if any of you ever make this eggnog, let me know if you are coherent after a glass.
I saw this episode of Martha Stewart’s show on PBS years and years ago, and I remember thinking holy fuck that’s a ridiculous amount of alcohol. And then a few years ago I looked for it on youtube, and the only recipe for hers was still rather boozy, but nothing like the one in my memory.
Good news! The internet remembers and this resurfaced this year on tiktok, etc.
For your enjoyment —
So that looks like 5 1/2 cups of booze to 8 cups of milk and cream. I’m sure it gets lightened up some by the eggwhites, but that’s rough stuff.
It doesn’t seem like it would be flavorful, just overwhelming booze.
Hey now, there’s some fresh grated nutmeg on top.
I’m sure it tastes like more than burning.
Meh, I may need some of that.
Yeah I’m not a huge fan of dairy-based drinks, but hey YOLO and this looks like a great way to forget my problems. Or anything else for that matter that was in my brain.
Coquito is really good. It’s the Puerto Rican alternative made with coconut cream added to evaporated and condensed milk.

I caught my daughter before she got home & had her meet me & my buddies at my brewpub. We had some amazing ipa’s & I solved some of my Xmas stress buying their beers. Winning!
I would taste Martha’s eggnog, if you catch my drift.
I’m not sure I do. Maybe you could post a picture.
Naughty.
For the true boozehound in you, consult Handsy Cuomo’s former sidepiece, Sandra Lee.
We met long-time friends for pre-holiday dinner on Thursday night and ended up at a speakeasy.
Gatsby
It was full, but fun. Some very interesting drinks were consumed.
