In good news (for me, at least) my Covid test came back negative, so my three day weekend is not a total bust.

  3. We’re at my friend’s house for the weekend. I got up really early for no good reason, so I figured I’d go sit in the bathtub for a bit. About 5 minutes after I get in the tub, I’m reading, chilling, all warm and comfy. There’s a tickle on my upper arm, so I go to brush it off, thinking it’s a hair. Y’all, IT WAS A BLACK SPIDER THE SIZE OF MY THUMB. I am not exaggerating at all, this thing was like a small tarantula. I screamed so loud that Other-Husband came running up from downstairs. Even he was a little freaked out by the size of it, and he’s a farm kid! He squished it, though. I swear, I nearly had a heart attack. I’m still shaking, and it was like, 10 minutes ago.

    • Bathtub spiders are the worst spiders!!!! 

      Shortly after moving into my house I was sitting on toilet and about to shower, so you know, naked and had thrown the clothes down the hall.

      Feeling especially vulnerable. 

      I see a large wolf spider crawl slowly out from under the vanity and I was like WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO NOW. 

      So I just lifted my feet off the ground until I could figure out next steps. Which ended up being spray it with my super hold hair spray until I could rush back with a shoe and finish the process.

      It turned out okay (well not for the spider), but yeah I was like AGHGHHGHGHHH while it was happening. 

  4. I got an email from Lyft stating that they would cover their drivers’ legal fees if they were sued under SB8. They also donated 1M to Planned Parenthood. Today Uber said they will follow suit. I wish they had the guts to cover their passengers’ legal fees and that all big corps said they would follow suit. But we don’t live in a fantasy land.

  5. My wife is about done with anti-vaxholes.  The last couple days she has been ranting about patients that are getting tested and coming back positive and being surprised.  They are the same ones complaining about how they are about to lose their jobs because they refuse to get the shot.  One sighted a need for a religious exemption and that the code for the shots was 060606.  I have no idea where they got this info & she refused to pursue the conversation.  One lady went to a concert unmasked, came home and gave her kindergartner Covid and sent him to his first week of school.  She can’t notify the school but at least was able to report it to the health dept.  At least we have some good news…

    As for my weekend, I am working today and then spend 2 days moving my oldest into her new 3rd floor apartment at school (no elevator!). 

    • What a fucking selfish asshole that parent is! My eldest is starting preschool next week and this is exactly what I’m worried about. There are some basic Covid guidelines in place but it all relies on honest adults not being dangerously selfish fucking pieces of shit.

  9. my cats…..are either the stupidest creatures on earth….or master trolls
    all 3 of them stalk me and stop me from doing anything im doing till i feed them when they want food…thats normal
    but once i get to the bowl to feed them…well
    candy : meows her head off till i grab the catfood….then blocks the bowl with her butt so i cant fill it
    snowball : sticks her head in the bowl soon as i grab the food…so i cant fill it
    chewy : meows her head off at a full bowl coz shes too stupid to check first and wont eat unless i rattle the bowl to let her know theres food in it…..
    im going with they are trolls…..cute fluffy annoying trolls
