      • Let ’em. Elmo is an idiot, and he’d still have a razor-thin majority to contend with. The MAGAs are rapidly careening toward a major crisis where they won’t know whose boots to lick, and that would only accelerate the process. You’ve already got MAGAs deserting the Trump camp to go “work” for DOGE.

        What people don’t yet understand is that Elmo wants to burn everything down. He’s not interested in effectively managing anything (anybody remember Twitter?) and he’s insulated from the effects of his shit by his money. So he just shut the government down, which will have massive repercussions, and Trump is going to get blamed for the economic upheaval that this will cause. Because Elmo does. not. care.

  4. What would you do if someone at work you have a problem with stopped at a door at the top of a stairwell and said:

    “I want you to open this door for me and let me go through because you’re my little bitch?”

    a) Slam the door in his face?

    b) Report him to HR?

    c) Do what he says?

    d) Punch in him in the gut and start a brawl in the stairwell?

      • Report, document everything, and see if there are other people with problems. There are always other people with problems. HR won’t do anything unless the office politics make it easy or the costs of ignorance are too high, and of course there are risks of the table being turned.

      • You’re a much better man then me. I usually chose 2) but a couple of days ago I saw red, chose d) and punched him in the gut.

        The only witness to the fight broke it up. The asshole ran away after getting hit and then came back to say something else but got the door slammed in his face by the witness who also kept me from swinging more (I wasn’t because I was stunned at the possible consequences of what I did in the first place.)

        It was the culmination of 6 months of verbal harassment from this fucking prick who apparently was upset I was getting special treatment (because I was due to the fact both my parents have/had dementia and I had used the HR club on management to get what I wanted.) He thought for some reason I should be his bitch and treated me poorly when we worked together. I figured out that he never did that when everyone else was around and finally had it with him. I told management that if you put us in the same workspace again there will be fists flying.

        So after that we never worked together, but in the hallway when no one was around he’d tell me to fuck off or mock something I said like a 4 year old.

        However, I ignored him most of the time because his behavior is pathetic, but he started to do it more and more in front of witnesses to get my attention like someone even more pathetic. Well finally, he hit the big red button of FAFO.

        The only witness doesn’t want to see us both fired because that’s what will happen if one of us goes screaming to management. And the asshole needs this job too (I won’t in a few months, hopefully, but till then I still do need the money.)

        I feel embarrassed because I got provoked, but I also kind of solved my harassment problem because the fucking prick was embarrassed he ran when the violence he seemed to trigger happened to him and that he’ll be fired too as the instigator. The last three times we crossed paths he didn’t say a fucking word.

        I don’t know how long it will last, but he knows I won’t take any more of his shit.

        He told me that he’d fuck me up if I hit him again.

        I stared at him with my blank stare.

        Oh we stupid men and our cromagnon games.

        • If you have the money, I would see what it would cost to talk to a lawyer for an hour just to find out what your options are. That doesn’t mean jumping to the point of filing any complaints, but just what you need to do in terms of documentation to protect yourself. In the US at least they’re bound by confidentiality rules so you’re free to talk and they can also be helpful in finding other resources.

    • If you were at O’Hare in Chicago you would have grabbed the nearest “Wet Floor” sign and started whacking away.

      I have been to the American Airlines terminal at O’Hare and all I remember is standing around praying that the flight would return me without too much delay. It’s a horror show.

    I know Trump is not exactly the 3d chess kinda guy but anyone else think these assholes are announcing all these investigations before Biden is gone to force him to pardon everyone so when Trump & crew leave (or don’t leave) they can pardon every grifter in the crew and shout “Biden did it first!”
