Tuesday, Again. [DOT 16/6/20]

You made it through Monday, which means you’re one day closer to Friday. Let’s see what’s going on, shall we?

Hey look, some good news for a change!!

Supreme Court says gay, transgender workers protected by federal law forbidding discrimination

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that a landmark federal civil rights law from the 1960s protects gay and transgender workers, a watershed ruling for LGBTQ rights written by one of the court’s most conservative justices.

  1. As always with the SCOTUS, they can make good choices and bad choices. Yesterday they also let a pipeline project go forward which will easily harm the environment.

I’m glad Gorsuch made the right choice and interpreted the law appropriately and I’m glad that this decision, to not treat LGBT people like second-class citizens, has made people on the right pissed. I’m tempering my hopes, though, because Gorsuch is still someone bought and paid for by the Federalists.

  2. “The owners are 100 percent committed to getting baseball back on the field,”

100% committed, yes, but they also want 100% concession from the players.🤨

This is a *Golden* opportunity for the owners to try what they’ve been wanting for aaaages–the chance to break the back of the strongest Players’ Union in Sprotz:

I hope the players’ union holds their, holds their ground, and keeps the players (the WORKERS!) safe.

  3. What the actual fuck? I don’t fault Perlman for screwing with Cruz and Gaetz (because GOOD) but he’s not representing anybody in Congress. Don’t both those chucklefucks have WORK to do? When do Republicans do anything besides tweet? Why are they fucking around on the taxpayer dime?

That said, I’ll pay $100 for pay-per-view of that fight.

You know shit is ridiculous when TRUMP looks at a tweet and goes, nah, I don’t need that.

  4. welp… china is shooting indians…north korea seems to feel it isnt getting enough attention again…and the worlds horniest tortoise retired…
