THIS IS THE DUMBEST SHIT I HAVE EVER READ ABOUT MY CHOSEN PROFESSION AT THAT INCLUDES A DECADE PLUS OF GWOT.
Thank you for your attention in this matter.
When I say officers must write and be published in order to contribute to the profession, I expect editors to screen this type of dumb shit out. Then again, if competent officers were indeed writing and contributing to the profession, this dumb shit would be drowned out by quality articles. Alas.
“Next, board file photos must be submitted in a tight-fitting T-shirt tucked into pants to ensure a visibly fit appearance.”And this is not even the most insane recommendation in this piece that I can’t believe AUSA published (unless they did it for the lolz).Enjoy.
Yeah, but Make-a-Wish Pete is on his third marriage so he is diqualifed according to this guy’s metric…
He missed a 5th tenet:"Prior to commissioning, Patents of Nobility must be provided spanning no less than three generations to ensure commoners do not ascend to positions of leadership."
Or maybe he took a reading of 'Red Rising' too seriously:"Officers who exceed the tenets will be sorted into the highest tier, Gold. All others serve Gold and are aligned to one of 13 other color classes based on skill. Red, the lowest, is reserved for those who cannot meet these standards."
“The pillar limits candidates to only one lifetime divorce, as multiple divorces may indicate challenges in commitment, communication and conflict resolution—essential skills for managing teams in high-stakes settings” aaaaaaaaaaaa they put this on writing aaaaaaaaaaa
…way to have priorities…somebody…presumably…you’d…uhhh…think…I…guess?
“When past presidents balked at the possibility of war with Iran, they weren’t just dodging a hard choice; they were deterred by all of the obvious reasons a conflict could perilously spiral. Nobody should be shocked that the expected is now coming to pass.”
"By trumpeting unachievable objectives—unconditional surrender, regime change—as his war aims, Trump has given his enemies the opportunity to claim survival as victory. He’s left with no end point to a “short-term excursion.” – Frank Foerwww.theatlantic.com/internationa…
I love the idea that *this* US government, which has been nabbing landscapers and five year olds knows where Iranian sleeper cells are but just hasn’t gotten around to doing anything about it yet.
"The companies include Google, Microsoft, Palantir, IBM, Nvidia and Oracle"*Is that list of newly-militarized targets entirely fair, tho? Maybe they just pulled-a-DOGE and looked them up with ChatGPT
…you know the stereotype where the lady takes the car that’s playing up to the mechanic & after they fiddle with a few things that may or may not have anything to do with the problem the mechanic adopts a theoretically compassionate expression & does the sort of teeth-sucking “t’ch’h…it’s…gonna cost ya”?
despite extraordinarily stiff competition from the Roberts Court, Citizens United keeps its place as one of the most damaging Supreme Court decisions of all time
Graham embodies the kind of change we believe is needed among millions of white people in this country: a shift away from militarism and racism and toward multiracial working-class solidarity that explicitly rejects racism.
We know electoral work is not just about casting a vote. It’s about electing candidates who are part of our movement. With Graham in the Senate, we would have someone raising issues we care about such as ICE’s brutality, saying no to war, and opposing the genocide in Gaza.
…lmao, a white woman led organization from the Obama years endorsing Graham Platner is… whew Jesus.
…ok…this is somehow already late…which I guess is on trend
The fact that a FGO puts the physical pillar first (with all of its micro-tactical requirements) tells me he shouldn’t be a FGO. IDGAF if the brigade commander fires expert on his pistol.

As many as 150 U.S. troops have been wounded in the 10-day-old war with Iran, two people familiar with the matter told Reuters. Reuters Chief national security reporter Phil Stewart explains.
Footage released on March 11 showed silos on fire in Oman's Salalah port, as British maritime security firm Ambrey said oil storage facilities were struck.
They are storage tanks, not silos. API 650 constructed atmospheric storage tanks. Others may be ASMA VIII Div 1 pressure vessels. Get it together people.

…haven’t actually watched that one…but…honestly it’s pretty endearing how much the lady sincerely seems delighted to discover when people know she might be willing to talk to them they show up in droves to mostly-but-not-only listen…& to take part in something that they think of as a something that you can be a part of by just being a way…but…while I’m trawling for things I can listen to if I’m…not not-on-speaking-terms-with…it’s the radio…it doesn’t listen to me…maybe the device does in which case if that ever gets screened by a person they’re either gonna be amused or bored out of their mind…but…if the radio is making me want to talk back enough that part is happening aloud & I’m trying to do something else…then…alternative listening that might distract approximately the same distracting-ly pissed off pieces of my mind…kinda sorta…there’s also
…but…if you find either or both of those an engaging listen there is a decent chance it might be worth mentioning that…though I think in something or other that might even be this one but I think was at least one other she did say basically the two of them were on the same show/panel/stage/whatever for something & enjoyed the conversation that ensued enough that…once a month to begin with while they try to figure out how the schedules might let them juggle a more frequent recurrence…these things under the heading of “lunch money”

One of the things the USAAF and RAF buried during the 1946 Strategic Bombing Survey was that TERROR BOMBING, aka random hitting civy targets and expecting the people to flee in terror didn’t WORK.
Also, I remember Iraq thinking Iran was falling apart in 1981 (their military was weakened by purges of capable Shah appointed officers) and thought that this would be a good time to invade thinking they’d take advantage of the chaos.
It didn’t fucking work.
Here we are 45 years later… and instead Operation Epstein Furry isn’t doing the job of knocking off Iran or making people forget the Epstein files.

Yeah, it’s funny how terror attacks tend to make people furiously angry rather than terrified. And then what typically happens is you get the shit kicked out of you by people who are serious about obliterating you. See 9/11, the Hamas’s attack on Israel, and other examples far too numerous to mention. With a terror attack you’re basically giving your enemies carte blanche to destroy you, often with the help of their allies. Killing schoolgirls will NOT “terrify” the Iranians. They’re gonna be looking for payback, because that’s how humans are.
…the radio tells me the new guy that’s the son of the dead old guy is shy a leg & in a coma…& apparently still missing less steps per stride as we step-change through the transmission with the clutch out?
It’s incredible how these types simply do not see their enemies as human beings like them? Which I guess makes sense — you wouldn’t think of them as enemies as readily if you saw them as human — but we know how people react to terror attacks because we ourselves have done it for 25 years now. Furthermore, we have also decided that whatever we do is righteous because of those attacks, which is to say, it has very obviously hardened our own resolve and thus … maybe it does that to other people too? I dunno, just spitballing here, I’m not a RICH MUSCLY WARFIGHTER.
And of course waves of terror attacks only beget future terror attacks but somehow America still isn’t even ready to have that conversation yet.
I’m sorry, but backing Platner is Labour-level dumb electoral politics. I don’t really want Mills either but that guy is just a walking package of 500 red flags taped to a time bomb.
I eagerly await to hear how the pod save guys blame the left for him getting waxed by Collins on a strong “I’m not a Nazi” platform.
Love how these new dress code rules are just because Hegseth has the hots for other men and is too ashamed of it. So it’s “masculinity” and “leadership” and “look hot” and “I’m totally not popping a woody seeing your masculine pulchritude.”
correct…it is still friday tomorow 🙂
