Apropos of nothing, I am fond of Dictionary.com’s Word of the Day. They send a daily email, and they are often intentionally(?), subversively(?), funny. Today’s word made me think of the Trump family and it’s minions:
Abscond – to depart in a sudden and secret manner, especially to avoid capture and legal prosecution.
I expect that many minions will flee that sinking ship in hopes of avoiding capture. Except for the leader, who is going all-in – and I hope going down hard.
I adore the word “abscond” and as a weirdo word nerd use it all the time, especially about my son when he steals (“steals” more accurately) a cookie from the kitchen.
Weirdo Word Nerds Unite! I use abscond often when referring to the Chiweenie boys activities “Did you just abscond with your poor old sister’s treat? Again? You are so very rude.”

It is all over the EU & even a part of what Brexit is about in my understanding. The Term “Polish Plumbers” is a derogatory term. They seem to fill the role of our Hispanic workers & are a good target for the nationalists.
Yikes. My mom’s side of the family is Polish (I’m basically 4th generation). My mom’s parents owned a pub on the south side of Chicago in the 70s and they sponsored Polish immigrants (the legality of this was dubious at times). My great gran was also chased to Canada by immigration authorities (we have cousins in Montreal) until she could sort her shit out. It’s funny, but also an example of stuff European immigrants can get away with that others can’t.
Maybe this discovery will transcend American political lines. Covid kills boners! *insert eggplant emoji followed by skull emoji* …then again these findings are based in science.
