Wherein I bring you some bands that are occasionally mistaken for metal, lest you be confused.
This is not metal:
Neither is this:
Nope:
Hahahahahahahahaha…………………no:
This is metal as all holy fuck:
Now that we’ve cleared things up, get out there and metal up your Wednesday.
You may not consider this metal but damn Josh Zee is a fucking amazing guitarist!
Not metal, but chops-wise it’s pretty cool.
Josh in a little guitar throw down…
The Melvins – Honey Bucket
I always thought of them as hardcore punk but they get play on a couple of the metal shows on our local college radio station. Thoughts?
They usually get lumped in with grunge. Sam Dunn (“Metal Evolution”- great series if you get a chance to watch it) considers grunge a subgenre of metal, but lot of others think grunge was more punk than metal. I got a distinct early- James Hetfield vibe as soon as the guy started singing.
I can hear Hetfield now that you mention it. They worked with Jello Biafra, that’s probably why they were so firmly fixed in my mind as hardcore. I’m going to look for Metal Evolution, like I said, this is all pretty new to me, and I’m enjoying learning more about metal.

i think………. i like it!
and all the sheepies remind me of these guys
I’m pretty sure this guy is the very definition of metal.
You’re killing me with your soft rock on Wednesday Steel, lol!
What ever do you mean?
Although, we do have a metal for that!
That is fucking metal.
Not bad. That song will always make me think of this.
I have never seen this, that is fucking awesome!
Michael McDonald was chosen to do the BVGs on that song because he is also metal as hell.
That’s old school. I dig it.
