Hi, friends!
The weekend is almost here! Does anyone have fun plans? A friend is planning a movie night, so that will be a good time.
I also have boring things to do around the house that will help my stress levels – like straightening up messes that will make a room look much larger.
It’s dad’s birthday this weekend so I’m going to get him something and a card when I visit on the weekend.
Otherwise, it’s just OT and writing.
Family stuff. And Superbowl.
Tomorrow morning will be the SB poll post. Stay tuned.
The gas guy cancelled today so another delay for flooring so looks like that will be my weekend if they show up tomorrow. Â My eldest wants me to teach her how to fly my drone to get pictures for a project on a remote river but not sure that weather will permit that to happen.
My kid is finally bringing back the car he borrowed so we may go out to eat.
I was able to replace a leaky faucet just now, which of course had frozen into place, so I had to get out the Skilsaw to cut it out.
Nothing right now for Saturday. Probably work on stuff around the house, and maybe work on some bicycles (if it’s warm enough in the garage) as well.
Orienteering meet and Superb Owl on Sunday.
The Superb Owl folks are having a hayday this year with the ‘spiracies. It’s hilarious!
Even black Twitter erupted into debate over Kelce’s haircut being a high & tight or fade.
One thing I think is hilarious is nobody serious is trying to use this to revive the Taylor Swift-Kanye beef. Everybody knows who came out ahead.
Teaching another one of my neighbors how to make baklava this weekend.
I picked up a bunch of frozen phyllo dough from an Eastern European grocery a couple of months ago. I should check out your recipes.
Or you could bake a brie!
(I can’t believe this post is over three years old!)
Next Saturday is sheep-shearing over here, so there’s lots of prep work to do.
For some reason I thought that was a warm weather job. From the videos I’ve seen, that’s a big big deal. The sheep look so cute in those coats.
Well, it’s an early-Spring thing. We want to make sure the shearing is all done well before lambing season.
Plus, the wool is thick on the sheep this year, so we’re doing it a little earlier than usual.
@loveshaq if you have time, can you answer the three surveys in this link?
Under the guise of preventing crime Seattle wants to increasing surveillance with technology which has been shown to adversely affect BIPOC communities by priming cops to expect guns even when there aren’t any. It’s dangerous and also serves to further erode our right to privacy. Please spread the word (unless you are pro mass surveillance).

I would love to, thanks for making me aware.  My local Senator has a bill I hope can get passed & I’m pushing him to go further & discourage expansion & encourage rail investment if you want to weigh in with him.  He is head of transportation.  He sent this out:
Exciting bill updateÂ
Did you know communities near Paine Field in Everett suffer from some of the worst air quality in the state? The neighborhood where I grew up was one of many overburdened by air pollution. Â
This experience is part of what led me to sponsor Senate Bill 6114, which just cleared the Transportation Committee Monday. It requires airport operators to make sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) blends available to noncommercial, private jet owners with the goal of ultimately having all jet owners in Washington use this renewable fuel.Â
The detrimental impacts of air pollution are crystal clear in higher rates of asthma and an increased risk of stroke, lung cancer and other serious ailments. Requiring sustainable, renewable fuels for private jets is one way to help reverse these risks for future generations while also reducing our carbon footprint.Â
Done!
I’m watching True Detective (S4) by myself and am totally spooked. It’s giving me Fortitude flashbacks minus DeadSplinterStanleystans’ lead man Mr. Tucci.
