Weekend Round-Up [NOT 13/11/22]

Hi, friends!

I hope your weekend went well. I’m in the process of cooking some Brussels sprouts and andouille sausages to have as lumch this week to work. I guess it might smell like farts when I reheat my lunch, but people reheat fish at work so I’m not going to care. Also roasted some squash to go along with it, because I got too excited about squash at Trader Joe’s last week and bought some delicatas knowing full well I had several other squashes already at home. Shrug.

Last night my garden plants survived! I had them double-wrapped and was very hopeful. Fingers crossed they make it through tonight’s low of 20. I know in a few more weeks I’ll be like eh if they die they die, but I got a lot of meals’ worth of greens out there that I haven’t eaten yet.

  1. I spent most of my weekend… (only 3/4 of Sunday) reading, watching Youtube and doing laundry plus going to the parents for Sunday dinner.  Then it is off to night shift (fuck, I hate Sunday night shift.)

Tomorrow I got to clean my house and pack.

  2. Been watching Grandbaby all day, so haven’t gotten much done. We did manage a quick run to Aldi and the dollar store (needed a sippy cup for him… Dad forgot his this morning!), and I got the guys to make dinner and clean up (yay!) Currently watching Ratatouille and also watching a certain tired little boy’s eyelids droop while he snuggles his blankie 🙂

I had big plans this morning to make a pork roast and gravy and boiled potatoes. That didn’t happen. Gonna have to do it tomorrow, though, for sure.

  3. The furnace woke me up at 5 a.m. today with a lot of clanging, which I groggily deduced was not good. I killed the power, opened the panels, and didn’t see anything obvious.

Powered it back on, and in mere seconds the unobvious became obvious. A bolt in one of the blower motor brackets had backed out — the clanging was the inadequately fastened motor assembly whacking into the blower fan.

As I tried to refasten the loose bolt, it became evident that the bolt hole was stripped. However, I saw that there were multiple bolt holes in the chassis, so I released the other two bolts, aligned the brackets with different  bolt holes, and then reattached the motor.

Thus far – fingers crossed – the furnace is working as it should.

    I was exhausted by 8 a.m.
