To be clear, I am fucking irrationally angry at how fucking inaccurate Nolan’s Odyssey looks, but that’s because we have the fucking archaeological record and they could make it more accurate. Plus I hate the stupid omg it’s the past, grim dark coloring on all the fabric and shit despite the murals etc indicating that the Mycenaean period had all sorts of fun colors (especially blues!) in their stuff.
But also? I know it doesn’t matter and it isn’t relevant to the plot whether or not the palaces, thrones, women’s clothing, hairstyles, jewelry, men’s clothing, armor, or weapons are anything close to historically accurate.
It’s just lazy film-making from Nolan, which shrug, that’s just how he chose to do it. Given the cast list, he’s (rightfully) assuming the strength of the acting will carry the movie and nobody will care about production details.
