    Mrs. Butcher and I are heading to the Norman Rockwell Museum today to check out the MAD Magazine exhibit.  Butcher Dog will be entertained by our neighbor who will be taking her for a walk with another neighbor and their dogs.  Fun times!

    • I’m going to set aside my normal tirade about Trump’s dementia and focus on another issue:

      Who is running this fucking campaign? Why don’t they have a middle-school kid who learned in AV class to run a sound system? Why don’t the buses come back and pick up the MAGAs? Why can’t anyone apply his makeup properly? Why can’t he and Elmo conduct a Zoom propaganda exercise without waiting 40 minutes for things to work?

      I mean, set aside the fascism for now. Can’t they find a couple of people who aren’t absolute buffoons to handle these details? It’s astounding to me. Maybe I missed it, but I’ve yet to see a Harris event where the technology just … didn’t work. But it happens to Trump ALL THE TIME. Honestly, I’d suspect sabotage but realistically, stupidity is probably the answer.

      • Well, probably stupidity as well as alienating anyone who’d have any degree of competence in those areas, whether by demonizing them, firing them or just not fucking bothering to pay them for services rendered.

      • If it was anyone but Trump their messaging would be sidelined and their coverage would be taken over by endless speculation about their ability to run the country.

        The press says they can’t be journalists with Trump, but they just won’t.

      • …I don’t have the link handy but a week or two back I read a thing about how their app was poorly coded to the point that rural internet couldn’t handle it…& it was aimed at outreach to rural voters

        …a lightweight, better coded thing would totally have been possible & would have fulfilled the brief

        …basically, when they send their most talented people…to quote the man…they’re not sending the best?

    • This is interesting. There’s no acknowledgement of the media’s role in this mess.

      And of course, it’s a “both sides” issue. Except I have yet to hear of any Democratic misinformation causing shootings or death. But, you know, once somebody floated a “false flag” theory about Trump’s assassination attempt so obviously the left is just as guilty as the people who regularly get others attacked and murdered.

  4. At homecoming. Been day drinking two and soon to be three days straight.

    Football game today. Both teams are Alma maters (one sort of, I took a few courses via their adult learning program and got a certificate hence the sort of.)

    I will try to bang out the NOT during breakfast… If I don’t well I will let you guys know.
