What is Your Spirit Animal? NOT [6/8/22]

Today’s NOT is a pretty simple one. What is your spirit animal and why did you pick that one?

Mine is the animal in the post pic. A moose. No, I’m not referring to antler envy or its not so great magic abiities. The reason I pick the moose (meese?) is because most of the time it is docile, appears to be not too bright, is just hanging around quietly going about its business and the preferred target of loud fellows in bright orange/camo. However, piss a moose off and it becomes your worst possible nightmare. It will go after whoever made it mad with unexpected speed and ferocity despite being a herbivore.

A furious moose would smash the front end of your pickup truck, run amuck through your campsite, and chase one ’round the moons of Nibia and ’round the Antares Maelstrom and ’round perdition’s flames before it gives one up! (Okay, it’s not Moby Dick or Khan Noonian Singh but you get the idea.)

Most of the time a moose just prefers to go about their business without bothering anyone else.

So now I’ve unleashed mine, what’s yours?

    • Tell me about it. Faithful Hound is turning nine (human years) soon so he is turning into me and I am turning into him. He enjoys working from home, he’s a friend to all, he’s loyal, he loves Better Half, he’s super-inquisitive, he loves to eat, he likes to sleep (he snores, like me, or so I’ve been told), he’s overweight but he doesn’t care. His muzzle, like mine, is white. I don’t think I would enjoy having water as my only beverage option but otherwise very little distinguishes us, fundamentally. Oh, and I’ve also taught him German commands, because why not? And, I just remembered, he likes to dance, but neither of us has been doing any of that in a good long while.

  1. pig

i mean growing up i kinda hated being one

but all growed up…ive come to realize…….i thrive on shit

    bring it!

(that would be the chinese callendar btw)

i think they probably nailed it

  2. I hate to be that person but maybe instead of spirit animal we could say familiar, inner beast, or animal avatar.

If it’s aspirational I’d like a tiger, please. If we’re talking about an animal we resemble, probably a dog.
