Whatcha Looking Forward To? [NOT 20/7/21]

Hi, friends!

What’s something you’re excited about that’s happening soon?

I should be getting season 3 of Star Trek Discovery today and I’M SO FUCKING EXCITED!!!!

Also, I’m looking forward to my vacation the first week of August. If you want to do some NOTs, drop me a message. I got like 10 days in there that will be open if you feel so inclined. 🙂

  1. I am looking forward to the resumption of international travel. Luckily, my passport is up to date.

And what a fine passport it is! For my photo I went to a Duane Reade. it was summer, so I was wearing a white shirt and my hair was very short, like Marine cut. They had me remove my glasses, which is ridiculous, because I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 6 or 7 and am never seen without them. I stood in front of the white background and their no doubt state of the art camera managed to bleach all the color out of the photo. All you see in the photo are two little pig eyes and two eyebrows. When they do the 17th remake of “The Invisible Man” I’m going to submit my passport photo as the headshot.

  2. I’m excited and nervous for an upcoming trip to family camp. I’ve been going every year of my life until last year, when camp was canceled. Obviously camp had to implement tons of changes, and lots of families took leaves of absence because it’s going to be so different from usual. Hell, there’s a communal dining hall… so it’s going to be kinda crazy. I think it’ll be decent as long as it doesn’t rain, because we basically spend the entire week outdoors except when sleeping in our cabin. So hopefully it won’t be too unsafe. And we’ve elected to eat outside (they offered us the choice), where they’ll have a big tent set up. I wish they would have required vaccines to let people attend, but they claim they somehow can’t legally. (It’s NH, so maybe that’s true? Live free or die my ass – they have so many dumb laws.) At least they’re requiring everyone to test before being allowed to come.

  3. I can’t wait to get fucking  home!  We have been driving or stuck in traffic since 10am, it is now after 6pm.  Only a short check out the beach stop & lunch.  I am now on a ferry for 30mins before another 30 min drive home.  I would usually be on the deck looking for orcas but I have had all I can take of my wife for the day so I will sit in the car & be pissed.

  4. im looking forward to 4pm..when i get to go home and crawl back in to bed….and i havent even left home yet
    pfizer is kicking my ass…
on the upside….the pain has now shifted to the left side of my body…
so i guess im getting that nice even spread of microchips after all!

  5. A friend visiting my house for the first time for happy reasons later this month as opposed to hospital trips and a funeral weekend.  He was supposed to visit in Dec 2019 (but got a nasty cold and cancelled… foreshadowing?) so this is the first time in nearly two years.  The longest time he hasn’t been here is when Crazy Cokehead Narcissist was living with me and I had to tell him to pass (as I couldn’t/wouldn’t explain why.)
This visit really reminds me I really do miss my late friend.  He used to drop by a couple of times a month to hang out and watch movies.

  6. A cousin will be in town in August and is coming to visit. I haven’t seen him since the big rift, you have to choose a side in the fam, the ‘rents abide by the friend of my enemy is my enemy rule so I’ve been odd man out, not that I care, my stress level has never been so low. He’s a good guy [or was, it’s been awhile].

  7. I ordered a stand up paddle board, and it should be here on Thursday. Equal parts excitement and trepidation — I suck at SUPs, but convinced myself that the only way to get better was to buy one and hit the water a couple times a week. We’ll see how that goes.
