Hi, friends! What’s on the menu this week?
I made a fantastic rice and beans and have been enjoying that for a few days. I also am going out with a coworker on Thursday for Thai food and I cannot wait for those leftovers.

Not cooking but I ran into my neighbor and she gave me a bunch of tomatoes out of her garden and some peaches that her and her kids went to ‘pick your own’. Score!
This guy blew me away, and I would value the opinions of the food-folk in here about this sourcing and cooking method. Please note that I struggle to eat enough vegetables, and this seems like a gift from the gods.

I like to add minced garlic as well.
I love frozen veggies! 10/10, definitely recommend.
Summer of 2026’s Breakfast of Champions (I tend to get into a rut where I make the same thing repeatedly for a few weeks) is:
Fry two eggs, Gently stir in a slice or two of torn cheddar cheese. When done, toast a ciabatta roll (butter it a little if you want) and carefully lay in the eggs. This will create an overflowing gooey mess so have a fork and napkin nearby. Serve with a banana to cut through the cholesterol and a glass or several of ice water because it’s already hitting 90 outside…
Get into a fight about opting for the Princess Cruise shore excursion where you go snorkeling off the coast of Sardinia. “Mattie, you can’t walk and I can’t swim.” “I’ll be walking by the time of the cruise and I’m sure some kind of employee or maybe a fellow passenger would get you into the underwater caves.” “Wasn’t this a murder mystery?” “Probably. It would make a good one, wouldn’t it?”
I’m sure they can give Better Half a life vest to make sure he floats.
