Hi, friends! I hope your weekend went well.
What’s good in your world? What are you proud of lately?
My front and back gardens are hitting that time of year where there’s a lot of blooms. I am very proud of how colorful and pretty it is. I also love that I can see peopke walking by sometimes stop to look at it too, which is just fantastic. I’ve certainly been that person in the past, I’m glad that other folks enjoy the sight of it.
Also while the squash vine borer moths did ultimately destroy my zucchini, so far the butternut squash seems to be fine and I planted the cucumber seeds pretty late so they are also unaffected. So anyways, good news, I’m not going to be trying to figure out how to eat a bunch of zucchini this summer. Hopefully cucumber salads are in my future, because freshly picked cucumber is waaaay better than any sold in the grocery store.
Congrats on your strategic gardening success! I’m the person who is constantly in awe of other people’s gardens. This summer I got house plants. I am contemplating an indoor herb “garden” Ikea greenhouse hack.
That’s awesome! I have no rooms in my house that get good enough light for herbs to stay alive. It’s all low-light houseplants for me!
It was a quiet weekend just the way I like it. 😊
I spent the day napping, eating, and learning how to play “Here’s That Rainy Day” on the piano.
What’s good? Well, I certainly hope that massage was. . . .
Oh hell yeah it was a good massage!
This damn irritating cough is not going away fast enough. Thanks to all that soot from the forest fires that a certain dingus premier pretends isn’t caused by man made climate change and high humidity this cough has been lingering longer.
I can feel it is going away slowly.
Ugh, I’m sorry the cough is lingering.
I’ve got coneflowers and hibiscus starting to take off,and for the first time since I planted it a few years ago, I have bergamot blooming. I’m hoping that means the roots are finally taking hold.
Oh nice! I have some monarda/bergamot that I planted a few years ago. It comes in strong in spring and then blooms early and sort of dies back. I’m not really sure why it does that, but hey it came back this year so I guess it’s just doing its thing.
I took pics of a bunch of the flowers in the yard today. Will try to post something if I have time this week. Yard looks pretty good considering wife is very distracted & not here much right now, mentally & physically. The hawks I spoke of must have made a nest. I heard the baby crying today but not sure which tree they are in (it is over 100 ft above my house). I’ve seen Mom go to an area of tall trees but not sure which one it is. Hopefully I see them teaching the baby to fly soon, we had that a few years ago & it was amazing.
discovered pumpkin and courgette flowers are edible and actually quite good with a little bit of batter and herbs
