Hi, friends! I hope your weekend went well!
What’s new? Learn anything new recently? Try anything new recently?
I have a coffee cake in the oven right now. It called for buttermilk, but otherwise had all the ingredients I already had. I have always avoided any recipe with buttermilk because let’s be real, I’m never going to use up the rest of the carton.
So off to google replace buttermilk options and I learn that you can just put 1 tablespoon of white vinegar in 1 cup milk, stir, wait about 5-10 minutes, and you basically have what’s sold as buttermilk in the grocery stores. Which was also good because I have milk I need to use up in the next few days.
Anyways, that batter* is delicious and fingers crossed the cake turns out delicious.
*duh of course I scraped the mixing bowl and beaters to eat the remnants of the batter. Who doesn’t??
i am somewhat disappointed science experiment wasnt followed by an explosion
other than that neh…not much going on
Counterpoint – an explosion would make a huge mess for me to clean up.
counter counter point
now that really depends on how big of an explosion we are getting
sure a shitty little one is gonna make a mess
a really big one wont be any trouble tho
I mean a really really big gets me off work for a few days at least, right??
well…it probably would over here…but you have american rules…so no…sorry
Get your insurance in order, a fake appraisal, and a good alibi and you can cash in.
I got a container of instant powdered buttermilk. I’m sure it’s not as good as the real stuff, but it will last forever.

Ok that is fascinating and I’m going to consider getting some for the pantry!
Yes, absolutely. I never thought about looking for powdered buttermilk.
You libs actually believe in science.
It’s what the nuns taught me in school! Science!
You had to trigger Luigi with the nun stuff, didn’t you?
