Hi, friends!
How did your day go? I took a sick day yesterday, but went back to work (from home) today. I should have fucking took another sick day. Not because I didn’t feel well enough to work a day, but because of all the stupid work crap to deal with.
Anyways, I’m sure you’ll be shocked that all the work I asked people to cover while I was out of office for a few days – most of it time-sensitive – did not get done. YIPPEE.
Normally we go into the office on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month. This month they had to swap the 3rd Wednesday for the 2nd. But, for reasons passing understanding, I was the only one who understood that we still needed to show up on the first Wednesday—today—so I was the only one there. I felt like that kid in middle school who missed the memo about spirit week.
Our block email list has hammered out a date for our annual block party in a couple of weeks. Hot dogs, weird potluck salads, kids running around screaming! Definitely one of the highlights of the year. Do we get real gossip or just carefully curated stories? We’ll see….
Fanny has a weird crusty patch on her nose. She had a fungal infection similar to it when she was a pup and it was a bitch to clear up because putting medicine on a dog’s nose and expecting them to not lick it off is a fool’s errand. I have to make an appointment with the vet to see what the hell she’s gotten into.
No guarantees, but look into adding probiotic bits to Fanny’s diet. Sometimes a bit of plain yogurt, a dab of sauerkraut, a little kombucha, a litle cheese, all blended and mixed with, say, cat food will start clearing that up.
Avoid too much to throw off their balance of sodium and other minerals, or to upset their stomach, but a small bit may help.
I have some plain yogurt, maybe that will help. Thanks
Definitely don’t mess with the bulk of Fanny’s diet, but swapping out a bite or so of the regular dog food with a probiotic mix over a couple of weeks can sometimes help.
Or sometimes it makes no difference at all, but it rarely hurts.
“Only Wednesday” is not something I ever say.
Maybe it’s my age, but time never seems to move too slowly for me.
Why is it when you’re on the road and need to go to the bathroom urgently that you’re stuck behind some slow moving assholes and the stop lights line up against you?
I had to do some darting lane changes to allow me the space to rush home tonight which allowed me to beat the lights and make it home without making a mess.
