Hi, friends!
It’s Sunday night, the weekend is over. BOOOO.
What’s on the menu this week?
In honor of Jacques Pépin, I made a lazy cassoulet. For the record, I had no sausage nor hot dogs to add to it, but it still turned out delicious.
Also in today’s edition of dumb things said to me this week: mom had a neighbor lose their shit over Harris losing (understandable) and one of the neighbor’s comments was “we’re going to lose our social security!” and mom says to me well they can’t do that. To which I replied Congress could vote to do that, sure. It’s not like it’s in the Constitution that you and the other old people get social security, or they could drastically reduce the monthly amount paid out as austerity measures, etc. Apparently she didn’t realize that. Maybe something to think about before voting for Trump, ya know?
I plan on making a pseudo cassoulet tomorrow. I’ve got the beans and some chorizos and a cooked turkey leg, I just have to combine them and bake.
I also scored some hot sauce from an Indian neighbor today which her daughter thought was too spicy, but I think it’s pretty good stuff. I feel some confirmation from that.
You gonna go full Midwestern style and use that hot sauce with some cream cheese in a casserole?
Made a double batch of chicken and white bean chili, so something in the same ballpark?
Glad I went all out yesterday cutting the lawn and raking the leaves. I was exhausted after about 3 hours of work, but I managed to finish including my neighbor’s front yard (I do it because my weeds end up on his lawn which is why I end doing the leaves… Damn guilt.) Plenty of rain today and tonight which would have ruined plans to do it today.
Usually I spend Saturday post night shift sleeping and waking through the day. That was today.
