I hope your weekend went well. I feel like I need another day to get more things done. That or find a crazy burst of energy at 7pm tonight, but that’s not realistic.
Did you have a busy weekend? Did you have a chill weekend? How are things?
Hectic Saturday:
1 picked up mom’s paperwork and ashes at the funeral home.
2 paid for the remainder of her funeral expenses
3 went to the tile place to sort out what is going where and make sure they have enough for the parental home Renos.
4 had to pick up mirrors and light fixtures from a store 25km away in heavy snow
5 paid the parents landscaper for the remainder of the season
6 drop off fixtures at parents house
7 Visit dad at the seniors home and talked him down as he freaked out that mom wasn’t here. At least I’m not my mom as she freaked out in crisis situations and escalated things. Explains my own IceMan like persona when things go sideways. It hurt to obfuscate dad a bit because he still doesn’t get mom is gone.
8 went to the hobby shop
Today all the laundry and cleaning I didn’t do yesterday.
I visited dad again just to see how he was doing after his freakout. He was a lot better. I’m happy when he’s happy.

We did something different this year & bought a live Xmas tree. It is for a nonprofit that does stream restoration & if you return the tree they plant them near the streams. Tree is small & prickly but looks pretty good & we feel good about it. Other than that we bought a new fridge & I watched too much sports.
That’s cool!
Usually around here the closest you can get to a nonprofit with trees is buying from a tree lot run by the local boy scount troop.

Amazingly, I made myself get that stuff done and now I’m feeling very accomplished because the Christmas tree is up and decorated.
Despite coming down with a cold I walked over to the annual Christmas parade today. Tons of happy people marching and watching as usual.
We too put up our Christmas tree but we underestimated how much room it would take up so we had to dump it in a Midtown parking lot. 🙁

Worked on an exam with my wife, written in LaTex. I was in charge of assembling graphics and proofreading. Plus, we entered grades. Almost the end of the semester. The house is decorated, and we made roasted chicken parts.
Today was busy! Had friends over this morning. Attended two birthday parties in the afternoon and a neighborhood tree lighting ceremony in the evening. Am currently enjoying a well deserved 🍷 before bed.
