These days feel dreary like that long cancelled AMC TV Show…
Not going to miss November, particularly this November for personal reasons which just adds to the list of things which make November my least favorite/most trying month. It is one thing I share with my dad who hated this month more than I did.
Besides Christmas, what makes December for you?
For myself, it’s the occasional sunlight and looking forward to friends who are coming to visit so I can pretend to have a social life once again.
A recent example is knowing this is my last December at my workplace.
Otherwise, feel free to add something else as it is an open thread/threat.
College football conference championships, etc leading to playoffs. It’s the part of the season I consider to be pure MAYHEM especially this weekend since it’s the big rivalry games where crazy shit happens.
Also it’s usually a boring as fuck month at work thanks to all the code freezes, etc. Which is wonderful, I’ll happily be bored after all the crazy hard work this year.
Mayhem example from today:

Now we just need Huskies to beat Ducks! We saw a Trump car convoy today (all 4 of them). Medium age 80. I flipped them off but only 2 of the elderly saw it, one honked.
My favorite part of December is getting together w/ friends, some I don’t see very often. This year we all need each other more than ever to console each other & figure out how to cope w/ the Orange Menace.
I’m rooting for the Huskies!!!
Not looking good off the bat & we have only been good at home so not getting my hopes up but it’s been a crazy day & year so…
I didn’t see that gamenbut it sounds like the OSU coach was about as clueless as the Bears’ coach, who justifiably was fired yesterday.
Most college coaches are overpaid man babies as seen by the Urban Meyer debacle. I still don’t understand why they are the highest paid civil servants especially as the kids weren’t paid till recently (now they are.)
I don’t think the problem was all on the coach. Everybody on OSU just seemed listless and mistake-prone.
Ohio’s QB took a helluva hit in the game, had to leave the field for a few plays to be evaluated. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was playing concussed after that or otherwise injured and trying to fight through it.
I also think Ohio State just thought LOL Michigan is playing shitty this year, we don’t have to worry about this one and weren’t prepared for it.
Signed, as a Bama fan, I know Auburn could be 0-10 in the season and will still come out with the skills to win the Iron Bowl. Ratings and rankings don’t mean shit for these huge rivalries.
That’s about as bad as Terrell Owens standing on the Cowboy Star.
It is worse than the year a bunch of drunken Queen’s students tore apart our own field over a tie game during homecoming (I was one of them)
My Virginia Tech Hokies are beating the tar out of the Virginia Cavaliers in the Commonwealth Clash. 20-3 at halftime.
Hell yeah, go Hokies! Cavs can suck it.
I’ve given up on football for the night & moved on to NBA before musubi making for my daughter’s long drive tomorrow. Went to the Asian store today & stocked her up on stuff she can’t get on the other side of the mountains. The other great thing about December, she will be back in 2 weeks until after the new year.
