Hi, friends!

I hope your Monday went well. Talk about your awesomeness tonight. New hobby? New cool thing you’ve found? New thing you’re working on? Tell us about it.

I’ve been trying to expand my reading repertoire to more than just the main genre I stick to. So, I’ve been checking out the books that the librarians are recommending this month, and while I wouldn’t have picked any of them on my own, I have enjoyed reading all of them. Definitely the best way to use a library, since most of them fall into the category of no interest in reading again but did enjoy the time spent reading.

My wife is going to visit her brother’s house in Mexico for the first time later this week.  She was giving me a bad time at first that I didn’t want to go.  Now that she knows that I am replacing our 60 year old hardwood floors while she is gone I am not getting any shit.  The wood has to acclimate in the house for a week before install so she was going to find out but her friend spoiled the surprise before I told her.  I am not too mad at her friend since she was probably defending me & her husband is helping me do it.

    • Was Mexico inconvenient or do you not like it? Because there are a lot of places there I’d like to see if I had the time, especially now.

      • His house is in an area that is always windy & but has no waves.  They are also not the neatest people so I am pretty sure the house would be pretty dirty.  That part of Mexico is not my thing & usually someone comes back sick.  I also end up having to cook for everyone every time I am with this group so it’s not like I would be chilling.  My wife & her brother talk almost ever day since their dad died so I am happy to have them deal with those feelings without me.

        • I guess it’s like California which has a lot of great spots, but then there’s also places like Rancho Cordova or Merced.

  2. I’m turning the tide against a cold I’ve had for a few days. I was the last ine in the household to get it, and it’s been a drag for everyone. Not that it stopped my son from going skiing.

    • Trump: I’m going to arrest the Supreme Court and rule by executive order!

      DC Press: Both sides are wracked with division over proper role of the Supreme Court. Why can’t Democrats come to a compromise?

  4. Trying more vegetarian foods. Not because I’m stopping eating meat, but more for health.

    A far cry from my carnivore days.
