Age old question: When traveling: Pack light or Pack for contingencies?
Mom used to pack for contingencies. I know because by the time I was 12, I became her pack mule. Every family trip I was loaded down hauling several bags of stuff that my mom thought we might need which we didn’t on the principle of “better to have it and not need it than not have it and need it” which is fine if you aren’t the one hauling it around.
Based on that experience, I pack light. Travel Light. My mom wondered how I can survive two weeks with a single big backpack… (that included a suit for what turned out to be a bust of an interview.)
I mostly travel to cities so I don’t worry about not having it. I’ll buy there if I need it.
Opinions?
Or if you want to rant about anything (open thread/threat) or wonder if Canada Cheats At Curling.
I expected to be in the air by this time when I wrote it… Still stuck in the terminal waiting. Spinning around.
Safe travels my friend. Hope you have a great time.
I travel by pickup truck, so I pack every goddamn thing, plus an extra few pair of knickers.
Debatable on pack light or pack heavy, depends on where I’m going. I’m in plus size clothing and sometimes there are few to none options if something goes wrong.
i generally consider myself packed if i have my passport and my money card..anything else i bring is a bonus
kind of a perk of living in one of the most expensive parts of the planet…. once im abroad im suddenly mr moneybags and buying whatever i need is cheap……unless i go the states or switzerland anyways….
