  1. ive been scratching my head at the ioc’s antics today
i mean.. on the one hand disqualifying a ukranian for a helmet honouring the athletes what died since russia invaded… coz no! bad! no politics! or propaganda!

and on the other selling berlin olympics 1936 shirts….coz heritage yo!

    does not compute

    • …pliny the younger…mostly what survived was letters although he was supposed to be some impressive sort of an orator…was a correspondent of tacitus & gets mentioned for letters about vesuvius but those were like writing now about the eve of the millenium…fun fact, though

Voting theorists and historians of social choice note Pliny’s early mention of how the choice of voting procedure could influence the outcome of an election.[23][24] On June 24, 105, Pliny wrote a letter to Titius Aristo,[25] where he describes a criminal trial: under the traditional rules of the Senate, there would first be a vote on guilt and then (if the accused were found guilty) on punishment, for which execution and exile were proposed. Of the three distinct proposals, acquittal, exile, and execution, acquittal had the largest number of supporters but not a majority, although exile would have defeated either acquittal or execution in a direct two-way vote. Pliny supported acquittal but anticipated that first guilt and then execution would be chosen under the traditional rules, and so he argued for a novel three-way plurality vote, which would have resulted in acquittal. In response, those in favor of execution withdrew their proposal, the vote defaulted to a traditional majority vote between exile and acquittal, and exile carried.

…my compliments to the taproom, I think?

  2. …probably spidey-noir over vladimir for me

    …lucky looks fun

…reacher-I-mean-ranger vs the war machine…sure…what could go wrong?

…young sherlock…ok…probably more fun as a guy ritchie thing that the young sherlock I think I remember before with the secret society & such…even if that might have been a bit of thing at the time on account of something entirely CGI being a first in the mid-80s or whatever…but the way that one brought in moriarty I seem to remember putting some noses out of joint & that part alone would seem to mean it’s supposed to have never happened as far as this one is concerned?

  3. I’m trying to convince husband that we NEED to play Reanimal tonight because it dropped today and it’s Friday the 13th. But he just started playing “Crisol: Theatre of Idols” last night #sadface

    • im just watched iron lung
coz fuck you hollywood… look what a youtuber can do!
also i pirated it coz fuck you youtuber!
      look what i can do!

but if suspense is your thing….its actually plenty good

  4. i put the olympics on from time to time,or have it running in the background, but admittedly have no clue what i am looking at unless it is hockey or curling.

i thought i was watching skiing until they all stopped skiing and started to shoot guns?

i watched snowboarding and cheered for them all. i’d prefer canada or nederland to win but but i don’t have it in me to cheer against 16 yo old girls from other countries (so impressive). still, no clue what they are doing or saying as, “she’s about to do the back 9-7…after landing the front 4-8…and she pulls it off!!!” in my head translates to, “she’s about to elevate and do flips…again…and she didn’t wipe out!!!”

    GOOD FOR HER, i say

    • …I forgot…the enthusiastic lady who used to be at vox & does youtube stuff under the heading “HUGE* If True” did one about how weird curling is & it turns out it’s got at least two things about it that were a surprise to someone who thought they knew about that stuff…their sister was chairman of a curling club for a while so they weren’t being cocky about it or anything…& the physics mystery part is kinda cool?
