I hope my US based friends are getting ready for a nice Thanksgiving. We’re just chilling at the house, nothing exciting…How about you?

…like…at this point it seems like that works the way snow-blindness does…because the implied certainty that it is your intention to issue orders that would be unlawful by any metric other than “what we say is the law ipso facto it can’t be illegal because we said it” is genuinely a head-fuck?

  2. …I (sadly for me but luckily for everyone else) don’t have time to go ham on the spectrum of ways the twitter “you are here” feature being inexplicable unless the shitshow aspect is the feature to the guy with the squads of american tesla-owner/boosters posting from nigerian IP ranges exclusively it would otherwise be freakishly embarrassing to have implemented that way while also managing to display misleading information like having the BBC & major UK universities read as run from the states because whatever service they use to mediate their social media presence talks to twitter from a US server in a way apparently you used to be able to get twitter to explain to you…but it does seem worth mentioning that it looks like the screenshots that had that @DHSGov account listed as created & run from tel aviv were a photoshop-type thing that went pretty wide in the viral sense?

Cracks me up how you could just replace Venezuela and Venezuelans with Iraq and Iraqis and it’d be indistinguishable from something written in 2002

Just wild stuff, there have been plenty of “this is the stupidest fucking thing ever” articles but CFR and Foreign affairs running cover for this nonsense really is depressing

    • I read through the whole thing thinking, okay, this must be an island that has about 400 people on it. Then I got to the end and found out Gonave has 87,000 people. Two pervert morons and a gaggle of homeless people were going to conquer and enslave an island with 87,000 people on it? And they’re going to sail in like 18th century pirates? Furthermore, the island is 30 miles from Port Au Prince, which is home to about 3 million people? All of whom are expected to ignore this invasion? I know the education system in Texas is shit, but how does any of that make any sense whatsoever?

      • i do wonder how they got far enough into planning the whole thing to be training for it and somehow never came to the conclusion that their plan was never going to work?

or better put…id like to hear how exactly they figured it was going to work…coz..i bet thatll be an interesting theory

also why washingtons homeless? are they better suited to invading foreign countries than say…texan homeless?

enquiring minds would like to know

        • All good questions. And now I’m overthinking it. Ammunition is HEAVY. It’ mostly lead, after all. Typically a couple of boxes totaling 100 rounds weighs between 4 and 5 lbs.

So let’s say our geniuses planned on 1 round per person, so 87,000 rounds. Let’s say 4 pounds per 100 rounds, which is definitely on the low end. That’s 87,000/100=8,700. 8,700×4=34,800 lbs, or about 17.4 tons (sorry for you metric people). That amount of weight would exceed the capacity of any private sailboat, unless it’s custom-built. Source: I live in Florida and used to work on boating and yachting magazines. So you need a fleet of sailboats, but you’ve only got two “sailors” unless some of the Washington homeless spent time at the yacht club.

There’s literally no way this could work. I mean, Hannibal marching elephant through the Alps was planned better than this, and all but one of his elephants died.

          • well…i mean…they were only planning to murder the menfolk….so i reckon they could probably manage with only 40 thousand rounds….

i assume everyone not male is going to meekly submit to slavery according to the plan…..because…that seems reasonable…

  3. What’s particularly disconcerting about the Venezuela stuff is how entire parts of the foreign policy establishment are endorsing/running cover for an administration that clearly has no plan or actual strategy

It isn’t the first time… IRAQ? They had no real plans and look how well that turned out.

    • For conservatives, Iraq was pretty well planned! They laid the groundwork for years, shifted the narrative every time their previous narrative didn’t hold up and spent trillions on fattening up their donor buddies.

They don’t even have a reason for this one other than “Orange man say so”

    • That’s because DOGE was a data-mining operation not an efficiency program and it has ended because it got what it needed and it will be decades – if ever – before we know what information they stole from us.

[“The More You Know” jingle plays]

    • Well, and extort the victims. Look at the colleges and media outlets that Tangerine has cowed into submission and demanded “tribute” to leave them alone.

Which makes the ones that caved look even more ridiculous. First-year law students could win against the current DOJ easily. Anybody that can hire competent counsel (or IS an actual attorney) can beat these clowns.
