I have a lighter academic schedule than last term so I can sometimes cover NOTs when others are busy.
Spent some of the evening cleaning up the kitchen. I sort of forgot how messy things can get when there are two people living in one place.
Last semester I think I got lucky with all my profs being decent lecturers and approachable. This semester, I got the opposite with my new class. Aloof and irritated with student stupidity is not the way to go, but that’s just my opinion. That’s life.
As for what’s going in the world… we know we have common enemies regardless of national origin.
It’s hard to feel good about where the world is going but we have to move forward despite it all.
Open Thread/Threat.
The youths aren’t oblivious to it either when professors are condescending or don’t give a shit. That’s what always gets me when they act that way – all those profs are doing is ensuring that the students respect them even less.
Ugh the family reunion that I was planning is starting to fall apart. Im somewhat relieved because it was a bit stressful to get everyone to commit to a date and destination. After which, I found out that a big tech convention will be happening at the same time. I couldn’t find a hotel that has room for all of us.
US Figure Skating championships started today, I’m watching the women’s short program. It’s so nice that none of these young women look like they’re being starved and many are in their early 20s, so you don’t have 13-15 yr olds under all this pressure.
