Recommendations! [NOT 24/7/24]

Hi, friends!

Happy Wednesday, I hope your week is going well!

I had 3 drivers on my way home swerve into my lane and almost hit me tonight, but you know, now that I’m home and not getting back in a fucking car until Friday, I feel pretty good.

We haven’t had a recommendations NOT in a hot minute, so let’s do that. Also as per always, talk about whatever you want. 🙂

So if you like cherry tomatoes, highly recommend the Sweet 100 variety. I have exactly one planted, it doesn’t even get full sun, and it’s producing anywhere from 10-15 tomatoes a day. A DAY. That sucker is just going to town. Eventually I’ll just cut off the tops of it because I can’t deal anymore. Tomatoes for days.

I tried a yellow pear tomato last year on a whim and that thing produced like crazy but every goddamn tomato seemed to split even though I watered regularly and none of the other tomatoes had issues. Anyways, it had been a few years since I have grown a sweet 100 and holy crap did I forget how heavy the yield was!

  1. Do not recommend: gnats

I forgot I had a closed trash can for toooooooo long (thanks to the compost bin and recycling, my kitchen trash takes a long time to fill now).

Anyways, now I got a fuckton of gnats. I’ve killed 4 since getting home, but also guarantee if any of the neighbors saw me trying to get them, they think I probably have a psychotic break and am hallucinating.

I went to the googles and I’m trying the jar with apple cider vinegar, sugar, and dish soap to see if that causes the remainder to drown.

  2. Our longterm foster dog was licking a spot on her leg raw for some reason, and instead of a cone we put an inflatable donut collar on her.

It’s working pretty well to block her from licking, and it seems to be getting caught on things much less than a traditional cone.
