Considering how well they did when they realized their voters were too stupid to get the CoVID vax, I don’t think they’re going to be successful.
In the 1970s the US automakers were blindsided by German and especially Japanese companies. But they eventually survived because even though CEOs like Henry Ford 2 and Roger Smith were stodgy unimaginative dummies, they weren’t delusionals off chasing goblins. Plus they had enough backup true professionals in their executive offices to move past crappy V8 sedans.
Tesla has a huge Musk problem and will continue to have it until he’s gone, unless he crashes the whole operation.
