On The Road Again

What’s your next travel plan? Are you like us, and start planning other trips while you are on a trip? That’s what we’re doing now, talking about 2027 trips and beyond while driving up to Waimea on the Big Island.

(Shrug.)

It’s what we do. What is your next planned trip?

  1. We are in the discussion phase. We wanted to go to Alaska, so that’s probably our next trip. I hate to say it but I’m not sure any other country would welcome Americans currently, so we may just stay domestic for a while.

    • …I don’t know if it helps but someone I heard recently said they were surprised to find that they got unsolicited sympathy for being american overseas rather than antipathy?

      • That’s good to hear. I’ve been considering brushing up on my German so I could masquerade as one of them. Kind of wild to consider pretending to be German so people won’t think I’m a fascist.

        • …stolen valor gets you the option of claiming to be canadian

…that’s like saying you’re scottish not british in a bunch of europe

…but…there’s more sympathy than you might expect to be had if you play it straight

    • I did an Alaskan cruise last summer so AMA!

  2. Planning a road trip to Chicago and points North come early March. Can’t wait to put this miserable winter behind me.

  3. Going to NYC in a few weeks to meet my new niece! (Not really a huge trip, admittedly.)

My wife and I are talking about going somewhere in a couple of months when she’s officially cleared from chemo and it’s slightly warmer.

  4. Cheap flight out to Vancouver and back during “spring Break” aka reading week.

  5. I’m heading to Oahu tomorrow for a week. Wife likes to plan trips during trips, I just want to enjoy one at a time. We are planning a Japan trip in the fall if we are not at war with them by then. Have a few short trips before like Vancouver BC, Tahoe, & I am going to crew on my friend’s boat on part of his journey back from Alaska to WA.

    • Staying on the west coast this time, but I’ll file that away for another trip! Thanks!

  6. Seahawks fans are the BEST fans!

    • Unlike the MAGAts in the Patriots organization…

  7. I was going to travel to a NATO country this summer and now I’m assuming that’s off the table because orange clown wants to start WW3 over Greenland.
To be clear, I don’t expect problems from the other country. I expect the US to be the problem when I would come home.

  8. I’m headed to NYC at the end of March. Meeting up with my siblings to watch Fallen Angels:

“In 1925, English playwright Noël Coward caused a mild moral panic with his play Fallen Angels, in which two upper-class women toast to their premarital sexual dalliances with the same man. The risque play drew a rebuke from the theater censor office of the Lord Chamberlain.

“A century later, the fizzy scandal makes for rich material for Rose Byrne and Kelli O’Hara, who will play the two conspiratorial women (whose husbands are away for the day!) in Scott Ellis’s revival of Coward’s groundbreaking comedy.”
