Hope everyone had a nice long weekend. The good news is it’s already Wednesday. The bad news is it’s only Wednesday.

Have a great day!
This bodes really well for the “speech” the orange buffoon is supposed to deliver at Davos. Does make for fun commentary though.
‘Like listening to an old drunk’: Trump stuns with ‘incoherent’ anniversary speech
More context, in case, like me, you can’t stomach listening to that cretin.
What the hell is Trump talking about?
I’m so fucking sick of hearing any of their voices.
Somehow all of them manage to produce that nasally whine. It’s like sandpaper in my ears.
…lotta fun had after they turned the plane around a half-hour into his flight…clearly I’m not alone wanting to find the funny even if it was back to the regularly scheduled horrors by breakfast or whatever
…but between carney & von der leyen & one thing & another…getting some serious “no, but I’m afraid you’ve already gone & done it”…the shift is “permanent”…&…past tense
…that’s…starting to sound like lines being drawn with people thinking about holding some & not letting those flap about like the sphincter lips like to think only they get to?
I have to wonder if pretty soon he’s going to come out on stage and just start hysterically shrieking.
My MIL, whose decline is kind of paralleling Trump’s, called my wife on Monday ranting about being robbed (she couldn’t find her TV remote). We honestly thought she’d had a stroke, but my sister the geriatric nurse said dementia patients do that all the time. Even more bizarrely, she said the remote was probably right on the table where she left it and she simply wasn’t able to recognize it. She of course “discovered” it the next day and tried to backpedal saying someone must have moved it.
That’s my long-winded way of saying I’m starting to get really scared about what that half-wit will do if Republicans don’t grow spines. And it’s actually costing them (see post below about Republican voter enthusiasm).
Sorry, realized after posting that I completely butchered the pronouns and their antecedents. Correct sentence below.
*Even more bizarrely, my sister said the remote was probably right on the table where my MIL left it and my MIL simply wasn’t able to recognize it.
Mom did that a little too. She would call screaming about losing her money and then I’d pour over her statements to find out she didn’t know how to read a bank statement or understand the up and downs of investments.
Yeah, it’s an actual thing. My wife found a Reddit thread where people were relating their own experiences like “Mom was looking for her tape measure and sent me a picture of her shelves and the bright neon tape measure was right there in the middle of the shelf in the picture” and “Dad could only recognize a screwdriver if you handed it to him and told him it was a screwdriver — otherwise he didn’t know what it was.”
Dementia is weird as hell, but I know you know that.
Brace yourself. In the late stages, my grandmother–who was the sweetest person who ever lived–started eating dirt out of her flower pots.
We are. She’s a nasty-tempered malignant narcissist and she’s getting progressively more vicious. Since she can’t ever be wrong or have any problems, everything is someone else’s fault, usually my wife.
Consider getting her some potted plants for her nursing home room?
Honestly, it’s getting to the point where the media can’t spin it for the half-paying-attention crowd. That presser yesterday was insane, even for a Trump-has-dementia scale.
The Republicans, though, are betting that the Democrats won’t burn them to the ground in ’26 and ’28 (probably correct) and that voters won’t remember this (also probably correct) and that elites will fall in line again in the future (absolutely correct).
Yep, that went just about as well as I expected.
Trump repeatedly confuses Greenland for Iceland
More bad news for Orange.
GOP Voters’ Love For Trump Isn’t Translating To Midterms Zeal, CNN’s Harry Enten Says
I’m almost at the point where they shouldn’t be allowed to fucking vote, ever.
Even in my neck of the woods.
I wish this was done in real time, live.
Sort of like what happened here…
Er Copy pasta error.
This one hits a bit close to home. I never got the “Go Home!” from the racists I dealt with (but I guess it was implied.)
The murder of Vincent Chin at the hands of bigots in 1982 is why my parents stopped visiting their friends in Ann Arbor even though I found out later, my parents were also disappointed with their friends view of “That’ll never happen to us.”
It’s why despite being almost “white” even almost white adjacent, I don’t forget where I came from unlike my cousins (actual cousins, not metaphorical ones.)
And then this morning he went off on Iceland, meaning Greenland. Davos is now a sunsetting town.
I’m guessing the reason Air Force One had to make a detour yesterday was because they forgot his meds.
I’m not usually pro-scammer but…

Y’know, it’s too bad we don’t have an organization of nations, maybe like a league, or a unified body, like a united nations.
aaaaaaaand now the tariffs are cancelled again…as we now have the framework for a future deal for greenland..
well that was easy… guess we’re just going to run out the clock working on the concepts of a plan
dunno what rutte has said…but he is good at selling bullshit promises he doesnt intend to actually do anything about
